For those that have done strips DIY need advice on driver selection...

Thanks again for the help guys. I think ima go with the xlg-150-h-a per 10 strip fixture. I dont really see myself running them that hard, but I'll just adjust the current down to fit my applications.

I did call a metal shop close to me and ordered some 1 inch wide x 1/8th inch thick aluminum flat bar for a decent price. Do you guys think this will suffice as the heat sinking element? Like I was saying, I'll probably running the fixture around or under the 100 watt mark primarily so figure the flat bars would be enough? I was going to order some proper heatsinks, but the metal shop price was under $40 and no need to pay shipping. Heatsink USA was around $100 for the 1" profile to be shipped.

From what I've been hearing from other forums these at low current don't need much of a heatsink. And on the front of the data sheet Bridgelux says "heat-sinking may not be required at low drive currents." And you're below nominal current. But also, and this is what I'm going to do, you can get L-bracket aluminum instead of flat bar which gives you better heat dissipation. or even better C-channel. The C will be most expensive of the 3 but still cheaper than heatsink USA.

If your current is below 1050mA then no need for a heatsink. Just to be clear, I'm talking about the bridgelux strips

Are those the eb3 slim line or the eb3 series via future elec?

Have you looked at the manufacturer number on the strips themselves to confirm they are indeed 90 cri? There is some some talk that future did not actually have 90 cri and it was a labeling mistake online.

Yea the strips I got are all labeled with the correct product code. I'll put a picture up tomorrow morning when I get off work for you.
 
Just to be reassured, I sent an email to future electronics about the strips and this was their response regarding the strips I purchased.
"We had an issue with a shipment from Bridgelux where they sent product under the wrong order number. This was an isolated incident.

Please verify the Manufacturer’s part number on the stock once you receive it, our system shows the correct parts were shipped.

If there is any issue, please let us know and we will take any steps necessary to resolve the issue."


I'll edit this post with a picture of the product code for you still as well when I grab one out the box.
