I have a couple outdoor plants and i was wondering; How do you control the light, so its on a 12/12 cycle. should i use a tarp to cover them?
please any and all comments and conclusions are welcome.

put your plants in a shady area like near trees so it only gets a certin amount of time in the light. but make sure it gets good enough light to bud properly google earth has a time/light feature that can help you a lot with that.

check my sig :D that's how ;).

interesting more and more people are doing this lately . . .

and I don't agree at all with what this dude above me said. . . it's entirely possible to do it and have shit to do. it helps a lot if you have someone else in your house to take over for a few days if you go somewhere though.

I wouldn't think it would be too hard to do. Just cover them up 12 hours before the sun will be coming up. Remove the cover when it's dark out.

if you put them to bed at the same time as sunrise, you can put them back out when it turns dark and half the work is done for you by the sun ;).

i always thought about trying this years ago when i did outside, guerrilla grows
and for a grow that you have to walk any distance to, the answer was always the same
way too much work unless you're gonna camp for 2 months beside the plants
now for those lucky folks with plants in the back yard, well maybe, some seem to have done it
but you have to be very demanding on getting all the light blocked and ventilating properly
this just sounded like way too much work, and risk since you have to beat a path to your grow every day for 8 fucking weeks or so

Well I've done it in my backyard, with success using large garbage cans. Would cover them at night and uncover at 9 am. I used a rock on top of the can to make sure the can did not blow over. It was not that hard for 6 plants 2-2.5 ft tall all their own covers. Good luck JR

now this is one of the better plans i've heard of for doing this
it makes sense when you can be very close to your plants
this definitely deserves some +rep

with my forced grow I put them in a separate room in my garage that is totally perfect humidity and doesn't get too hot as well as completely dark when it's totally light outside

I literally only have to walk 50 feet for these plants in an entire day.

to me the forced 12/12 outside seems like it's worth a try at least once. i may feel differently come late august...

and yes, it's a does fuck up your regular schedule for several months to do it right.

like i said it was not too bad at all, work it into whatever schedule works for you. I did not miss one day or the girl would take care of it for me. I work late at nite (Chef) would cover them when I got home 1-2am set the cell for 9 am and would get up and uncover the ladies, crawl back into bed if necessary. Easy for good smoke. I live in a climate where I can grow outdoor all season pretty much. Good luck JR
