FORCED to Harvest!!! Please help...

Hey yall... Well last night while inspecting my room I found a "HERMIE" (womp womp wooomp)! Its just finishing its 8th week of flower and I'd say 90% of the hairs are still white. But it is covered in trics! So this morning b4 lights on I chopped! I couldn't flush cuz its in the same rez as my other girls (DWC) but the nute levels are very weak! Now... being that the hairs were still white and they weren't as done as I wanted them to be... Will this affect anything in any kind of way? The other girls around her/him/it's hairs have already begun to change color, I'd say bout 30/70%. I looked at the trics under a scope and the majority of them are cloudy. So I think I should be OK but I just wanted yalls opinion being its my first time! I just hope that the drying and curing helps bring out the best of it! And I would imagine that any clones I took off it would have to be trashed as well...right? Thanks in advance for the help! You guys always come thru for a brotha....

Hope it helps, regardless of advice, you've got your bud now and there's nothing you can do to improve it besides curing it properly. If your plant has been down for several hours you can't take clones anymore, xylem has dried.

Majority cloudy is good depends what you like itll give you a good buzz good thc. Amber is cbd not thc. Amber gives you the couch lock. So if you want amber let it go awhile. As far as chopping early itll still do a good job if it has milky trichs just do a good cure no worries. I cut down 6 hermies that had little preflower buds that were tiny and had clear trichs still gave me a better high than reggie lol as far as the clones yes theyre all screwed kill the mother my friend or if its big put it alone in a closet and flower it out seeds really wont kill it for personal smoke.

Are the bananas coming from the buds?

If so then most likely you have late flower bananas, most strains will pop bananas near the end of the plants life in a last ditch effort to reproduce. Get a pair of tweezers and pluck the bananas, don't dig into the buds and damage them, just pluck out the bananas you see. Harvest according to the chart GrizzlyAdams posted.

It depends on when they went hermie, how bad the banana infestation is, and why it went hermie. As I said above, most likely a late flower banana, if so then you can keep it if the bananas aren't too much trouble and the bud is worth it.

If there are hanging clumps of bananas then you likely have a true hermie, if so chuck it after you let it mature and harvest it.

How many bananas are there? Clumps or growing out of the buds? How quick do they grow back after plucking?

Thx Grizzly! I thought for like an upitty high u'd want cloudy and for a couchlock high u want amber. Or am I wrong? That's just based upon what I've been reading around and it even says it on those pics u included. The trics are cloudy/milky so it should be in that range! And the clones I took are from b4. I have them rooted and waiting for transplant so would those turn hermie too? But ya like u said... Its done!!! So I'm just trimming it all up now! I just hope if I cure it long enough that it will bring out its potential. But like I said b4... Most of the hairs are still white... Does that matter in any way? Thx....

Thx Hobbes! Well it first looks like little balls (I disected one) then when u open em up... Ya, they got like little bananna lookin thigs inside! As far as the clones go... I didn't really like the way that plant grew anyways (compared to the others in the rez) so no hurt feelings here for chuckin em! Thx....

So... Does the white hairs play any type of role? Being that they're all still white. Even with the trics being cloudy/milky, does it really matter that the hairs are all still white? Anyone?....

That is one of the reasons that the standard accept trichome color charts for harvest are only so accurate. It does not tell the entire story and it is not specific enough in regards to strains that are very different. It is close enough for most strains where it will not greatly cost someone so it is accepted but to adhere strictly to it can at times be an error.

An example of how the chart is not spot on is many pure sativa strains, and some that are almost pure sativa, will reach peak THC levels while the majority of trichomes are still clear. With strains like that as soon as clouding of trichomes begins it is time to harvest if you want maximum THC levels. The chart says clear is not ready for harvest.

If someone grows the same strains much of the time it only makes sense to try harvesting plants at different trichome colors to find the peak trichome color for their harvests.

One thing that goes with amber trichomes is lower levels of THC. CBN (Cannabinol) is produced as THC ages and breaks down, this process is known as oxidization, a sign of that is darkening trichomes. High levels of CBN tend to make the user feel messed up rather than high. In storage CBN levels can be kept to a minimum by storing cannabis products in a dark, cool, airtight environment.


If someone wants a couch-lock body stone and a good high they should purchase genetics that are high in THC and CBD but not trade THC for increased levels of CBN.
