Found machine gun ammo outside grow space

So I'm up in my grow room and as i'm leaving the attic area i decide to check the rest of the area. I end up kicking a 5 bullet piece to a machine gun chain. the bullets have " F A 4 " stamped into the bottom of them but it might not be in that order.. They are still on the part of the chain. Can post pics if you want.

Yeah post them! The only thing I can think FA might stand for is Federal Ammunition.

Those are pretty cool man the casing is drilled though, so they are not live. I wonder why.

thats what i was wondering, there are 3 drill holes on each in the exact same location

they may be from the war, the previous owner was in WWII

I'm not surprised. A friend recently bought a new house, and was re-doing it and one of the previous owners was a vietnam vet, and had little cubby's and holes everywhere in the house. Fake walls, fake ground, hidden basement, you name it, and he would just stack guns in every single place, and just was super paranoid. If I was in vietnam, I would be too though afterwards. Haha.

And NOW what your all looking for. FA 30-06 Steel/Brass Dummy rounds. Holes drilled in side are meant to be there, its called a flute. And it was not drilled out to empty powder. for further reading, FA 30-06 Steel Dummy Rounds - 1919a4 forums

It was hard as shit to find. Haha.


Edit: This is pre-war if it has the flute in the side, which it says. I would hold onto those. Might be worth something.

That is pretty cool your link does not seem to be loading at the moment. What was the purpose of the rounds then? Why are 30-06 rounds on a chain? I thought it was bolt action rifle in WWII. Thanks for the info I like this kind of stuff, just don't know much about it.

yeah they look huge, like 50 caliber or some shit. i don't know why people are saying 30-06. unless they come in extra large.
