fox farm soils are a joke and I will never buy them again.. was about to transplant my clones into a 3 gal pot and noticed there was a lot of wood and bark I always noticed there was some but I had no idea there was so much. I decided to sift the soil I had in the 3 gal pot here is what I got. don't waste your money guys. btw this was ocean forest I have no complaints for happy frog or LW they seemd to bee good soils.

first two pics is the wood left after the sift. last pic is soil I got after the sift if you guys need to fill a hole in your yard than this soil may be good for you.

All I read about that soil is it gives a lot of people problems with nitrogen levels and ph. That's the first time I've seen it and it does seem to have an excessive amount of bark in it. I think that I would like that area filled with soil instead of wood, and if the reason they use it for aeration, it is just because cheaper than perlite, but not suitable for potting soil in my opinion.

So is the bark/mulch the reason why you hate it? Have you used it before, or have any results to compare it to?

I noticed some of my perlite turning green after watering with it. It looked just like my organic Buddha grow formula when I pour it over my soil/perlite, so I was wondering if they added nutrients (other than what's composted).

My plants are doing fairly well in it so far, but I haven't had enough time to really see how it does.

ive only used it my last grow because when I went to buy my promix they were sold out. so I picked up the FFOF to give it a try. I like my soils light and airy and this is far from that.

Thank you for contacting FoxFarm with your inquiry and concerns, I’d be glad to help. One of the main ingredients of Ocean Forest is composted forest humus, which has many benefits for your plants. The bark found throughout the composted humus is of the finest quality and aged considerably longer than any other products on the market. The acids and beneficial microbes that come from the bark being in the soil are one of the reasons our soils produce such fantastic results. The batch is not bad, I assure you, as our quality control procedures are incredibly thorough. We pull samples from the production lines 3 times per hour to check for consistency, ppm, pH, and contaminants of any kind. All ingredients are sifted and sourced from the highest quality sources available. I apologize if you feel the contents of your Ocean Forest did not meet your expectations, if you feel there has been an error and the contents are not as you expect, you can send in the manufacture code found at the top of the bag where it was sealed shut, and we can pull our retained sample to analyze for any problems. We can also send you a pre-paid shipping tag if you are interested in sending us a soil sample. We take great pride in our products, and if you feel you have received a product that is below our standards, we aim to make things right. I hope this helps
