Fox farm ocean forest

Is there anything I need to do to this soil before I transplant my plants in to it? I'm a new grower with only 3/4 of a grow under my belt...haha. I used miracle grow on that grow and they grew like crazy, unfortunately I had to dispose of them before they got to bud due to legal issues. It is now legal and need to at least learn the basics. I WAS TILD NOT TO USE MIRACLE GROW.....Is this true?

You can use whatever you have available as long as you learn your medium and watering practices.

Miracle Grow gets crapped on because it's not elite. It's a basic potting soil that will keep plants well fed well into 4 months. No, it's not as good/fast as a well thought out hydro grow. But you're not doing a hydro grow.

Yes dont use miracle crap and ocean forest is what I use but you still need nutes

A lot of people will try to tell you fox farm ocean forest is no good because it’s hot, however I’ve ran a full auto grow in ocean forest with no problems. That being said I generally mix ocean forest with fox farms happy frog soil because it comes full of beneficial fungi for your plant and also cuts back the hotness some people complain about. Like I said though, I’ve used the soil right of the bag with nothing added successfully. You will need nutrients during flower phase however as that soil really on includes vegging nutes

Vermiculite

I an using FFOF now. You will need to feed them still but not much.

There is a thread on this site called FFOF made simple. Its a long read but you will learn alot. Give it a read. I wish i read it before i started my current grow.

There’s some Miracle Gro organic that’s fine to use. Not hot. Needs more perlite.

No. Not vermiculite. Perlite. A world of difference.
