Foxtailing Green Gelato help/suggestions please

Into my 3rd grow of Green Gelato.
First grow I started from feminized seed and despite a bunch of rookie mistakes end results were good, harvested with mostly cloudy and a touch of amber trichomes at 10 weeks. Second grow from clones off the original Mom and at 13 weeks trichomes were all still clear. Around week 11 they began foxtailing. Had some heat stress issues during the grow and thought maybe this contributed to the foxtailing occurring. The buds lost density and the end results were much less potent than the first grow. Now approaching week 8 of the third grow and they are showing signs of foxtailing again with all clear trichomes. Do I just flush and chop. Is it a genetics thing and if so why did it not occur on the first grow? Do some strains pass their prime even though trichomes are not clouding or turning amber. Educate me please. I love the strain and just want to maximize its potential.

What is not clear kmog? I will try to better clarify. When it “foxtails” the top growth of the bud stretches and gets fluffy almost like it is trying to re veg. As it progresses the whole bud seems to loosen up a bit. I have read that it can happen from stress or leaving the plant in flower too long before harvesting. So I am looking for any who have experienced this.

It looks like it’s really early in flower. I don’t think yo can tel
Whether or not it’s Going to foxtail yet, that’s generally a later in flower thing. It does look like you’re a little lockout/underfed/imbalanced as far as nutrients though. I wouldn’t worry about foxtailing for another 3-4 weeks when you have a better idea of what those colas are going to look like.

So if you’ve had it before it’s usually from a few things. Light too close or too hot, and too much nitrogen late in flowering. Check those and see if it changes.

It could be your feed is causing problems with the ripening phase.

What is your exact feed mix? mL / gallon of each bottle.

Running the following nutes and recommendations at about 75% of the recommended amounts. Medi One is 4-3-3. Massive Bloom is 1-2-3. Ocean Magic is 0-0-5

The lights certainly don’t seem too close (at about 18”) and I have dialed it back to about 75%. it is an HLG 320w 3qb LED. In week 8 of flower and there are 3 strains in the tent other 2 White Widow and Hulkberry are doing fine and not showing signs of any heat or light stress but I realize it can be very strain dependent.

Well I am not familiar with those nutes but something is definitely not right with your feed. I don't feel like hunting down the label percentages and entering them in my calculator, honestly I would try a run with a more popular nutrient line, like GH Flora 3 part and see if that fixes your issues on the next run.

I grew 1 Green Gelato Fem so far. It is 6 week in. It fox tailed like crazy. Never had a plant do this before even in this climate. Upper 80s F max. It also had a few male sacks near the stem. Both the hermaphrodism and foxtailing started in early flower. On the plus side I have sampled it and it is killer.
