Fresh frozen bud

When making fresh frozen bubble do you guys just throw the buds in whole, or is it better to break them up into small bits prior to freezing?

I’ve been making bubble hash for a minute but just tried using fresh trim for the first time and was blown away by the taste.

Then on top of that there’s no trimming or drying can’t beat it.

Ive never really used any thing big enough to need breaking up, trim and small and airy popcorn. I could see it being beneficial if using bigger buds but I’d of done that before freezing I believe

Break up by hand to small penny size being the largest. More surface area = more trichomes. I was shocked at my most recent run compared to my first.

Cut all buds off branches very close to bud. If using a wash bag it prevents pre mature punctures. Dry ice worked for batch freezing in a cooler. Not much help in washing. Save that money for dry sifting. Use just enough ice to be able to hear in wash. "Don't Overload". Washer becomes juice extractor when ice does not easily flow.

like if you’re too rough you’ll start getting bits of leaf? Of the bits of leaf are inevitable and just watch for them so you stop in time?

Yes, stop and shake over something else for "seconds". If you do it to long you'll get lots of green in the finished product. I used a bubble bag and two very large stainless mixing bowls.
