Hello,

Can anyone help me identify this mite? A fast crawler mainly on the rims of my pot, primarily on the soil.
Sometimes seen on the leaves, but it seems to be scavenging. Just an observation. Growth is unaffected though I am baffled by the yellow spotting on leaves. Wonder whether the 2 are connected at all. But then it would not be a beneficial bug would it?

Looks similar to a HYPOASPIS MILES predatory mite.

But this name gives you another search Avenue to check for yourself based on your own observations.


Another could be MOULD MITE aka cheese mite.


Have a look and try some Google fu to see if any of these match.
