This year I decided to try and grow some frisian dew (http://original-ssc.com/dutch-passion-frisian-dew.html?___SID=U) outdoors - i heard that this plant is a serious trooper, and that is just what i needed since this year started with some awful weather.
So, i planted two seeds (there were three ordered from original sensible, but i had some incredibly bad luck and lost one seed when opening the package, i still can't believe that happened). I planted them quite late because the whole spring was filled with non stop rains, we even had some huge floods with casualties, so i couldn't do anything until the water went away.
I started the plants at home, and moved them to the spot when they were about 35 cm tall. Topped them, and left there to grow. They went to about 1.7 meters in height, started flowering at 13.7 (which is really early considering other strains I have), and so picture 0 is the current state of the girls.
As you can see by the yellowing leaves they are quite near the end of flowering - but it's not only the flowering that caused the leaf yellowing, but rather non-stop rain that just didn't stop for the last 3 weeks. I had only 4 days of sun in a month, so it's a disaster and my plants are far from the point they should have been by now, plus they are literally drowning themselves in flooded terrain, they are siting in the water. I'm keeping them alive by foliar feeding. As if that is not enough, temperature has fallen to 14 degrees Celsius during the day so there is HUGE mold problem that literally destroyed all my other plants on the spot in a matter of days, and I'm talking about 99% mold infestation on buds, stems and leaves. I had to pull out 2 black russians and 2 black roses because of the mold...
It seems that frisian dew is quite resistant to mold, because she has fully formed buds and although i had to remove about 25% because of the mold, in the same time i lost 4 plant that were in the second week of flowering with buds just beginning to form, so I can stay that in the worst possible conditions my frisians survived the impossible. My problem is that the forecast calls for another 2 weeks of rain and low temperatures (usually it's about 30 degrees at this time and now it's barely 15, this is worst year in my lifetime), so it seems that I'm going to cut down the buds although they are not done yet.
Picture 1 and 2 show the buds from different plants - as you can see i got two phenos, one got MASSIVE and developed 70-80 cm long buds (but they are rather fluffy, i suppose they would thicken up if there was any sun) and that is picture 2, and the other one has small (picture 1), but incredibly compact and smelly buds that smell like skunk.
Unfortunately I'm loosing more and more buds every day, so I will probably cut them plants down in a day or two if sun doesn't appear, because i don't want to loose everything. I hate mold!
I also added the pictures of both plants so you can see the difference between phenos. The big buds on pheno2 plant are already partly cut down due to the mold, that's why they don't look so full.
