Full Spectrum CFL question.

Home Depot has a CFL that is advertised as Full Spectrum. It's a 27W and 5500K with 1400 lumens. Is it possible to put these in my small growbox for the FULL period of my plants life? Or do I still need to switch it out with bulbs that have a lower kelvin rating even though it says full spectrum? THanks :peace:

haha, used to sell them bulbs. best I understand even from the manufacturer. The color temperature is still 5500k and if you need the lower spectrum like hps 2100k approx. you "should" need a different bulb. The full spectrum is just a different coating used to give off a brighter blue-er color. if you look at the bulbs you will see a comparable wattage CFL in a lower color temperature gives off more lumens. The "Full spectrum" Or Daylight bulb gives off fewer lumens per watt due to the Filter.

Just my personal understanding of those CFL's specifically

oah and I'm sure yer gonna need more lumens, well depending on your grow space,.
From what I understand more lumens more growing power assuming they are getting correct / enough nutes (not too much) / co2 (co2 generator ect.) and Light.
Good luck. love to see your setup and how your girls are doing.
