Fungal infection?

Anyone know what's going on here? I've never seen this before. Started out in a greenhouse under a 6,000k solis tek one thousand watt metal halide since the greenhouse is in a poor location exposure wise. Seeds from two different strains are doing the same thing. The effected area is soft to the touch as if it's partly rotten.

Edit for clarity, these haven't been watered since they first went in the pots and the light is kept at a distance of at least 4'.

Maybe your drowning your seedling wi to much water. Then frying the hell outta them wi a 1 K MH??

Not likely. These haven't been watered since the seeds went in the soil and the bulb is old and at least four feet away being used as supplemental only.
