Fungus gnats on my seedling

Hey guys!
So I have recently started to notice some brown spots on the leaves of a young plant. The first thing that came to mind was that this was a nutrient deficiency/burn but, I knew this couldn't be the case as I have phed the water and checked the run-off and all is good. On closer inspection of the plant I noticed some beetle-like winged bugs on top of the leaves (larvae also found on leaves). A quick google search told me that I had fungus gnats. So I just wanted to ask some experienced growers of any methods they used to successfully get rid of the bastards and to prevent any further infestations of pests.

fungus gnats dont live on the leaves nor do their larvae. its sounds like thrips

Hmm... Well... Any suggestions on how to get rid of thrips :???:
I will post a few pics of the leaves to help with identification.

..What does pH have to do with nutrient burn? Why would a concurrence in your pH exclude nutrient burn? Off-topic, but necessary.
 
Also, you COULD use pyrethrins-and-sulfur pesticides. They're technically organic. The thing is, I wouldn't drown your plant in it, because pyrethrins fuck with your sodium channels in high doses, and though mostly considered safe, I'd imagine a high concentration could kill you by shutting your nervous system down.

Ph plays a big part in nutrient uptake of a plant. If the ph is off in the root zone of the plant it can cause a lockout. Sorry my bad meant to put deficiency/lockout.

Yes, the uptake, but it wouldn't confirm or deny nutrient burn or deficiency, only lockout, and sure, sometimes lockout confirms overnuting, but lockout isn't always solely caused by pH. Overnuting doesn't always change your pH either, especially if you're organic.
 
Looks like bugs, because the pattern isn't only along the tips and edges. It could also appear as phosphorus def, but your stems aren't red and it isn't severe enough. But you are right, it is bugs.

My point is, lockout is not just cause by pH. And your pH cannot tell you alone if you've overnuted, so don't just rely on that.

look at the leaves thrips leave little white specs. the larvae will hang out where the leaves meet the stem. if u have them monterey garden isect spray is your best bet

I dont think it is a deficiency as the soil was bought recently and should still have plenty of goodness in it and I dont think its burn because I havent fed it yet

I realize. I'm giving you a tip for the future, because your understanding of the relationship of pH to lockout and burn is slightly off target.
 
Go get that shit I mentioned. It works. Sprayed all cannabis-related pests, plus spiders and centipedes and shit around the house. Dead in 2-5 minutes.

I forgot to mention I'm growing my cannabis outdoors, is there anything I need to know about applying this stuff outside? Also I live in Spain so no Home depot around here :???:

Should be fine, but if you have cats, their livers will not process pyrethrins out, and it could potentially kill your cats if you have any.

That's not a thrip. There is no way that you will be able to see a thrip with the naked eye, you would need at least a 30X scope. I know, I've had them and they are minuscule, and a mother fucker to get rid of. Your leaf would look like it is sprayed with water, and then placed in the sun. They leave little white spots, almost like a burn. Neem oil will probably work, and that should be available. If not, dish detergent, just a tiny bit (make it sudsy) and spray the UNDERSIDE of your leaves, ALL of them. It will suffocate them. Good luck
