I used to post on a different name on this site, some of you might recognize who I am, but please keep it secret and just send me a PM .
First, I want to say that what you see here is definitely not the finished product. I'm impatient by nature so I will be acquiring most of what I need as I go, could not bare to wait another day without having a bean in soil lol.
Right now my setup is pretty ghetto and even laughable, but realize that I do know this and it will not stay this way. I actually just moved to another state and had to leave almost all my original grow equipment. Luckily, I got a job earlier this month and am expecting my first paycheck this Friday so will be upgrading essentials like an adequate enclosure, ventilation, light setup, etc.
When you're done laughing...continue reading .
So far I have one plant that just popped through the soil today, Delicious Seed's Critical Jack Herer (fem) planted in Fox Farm's Ocean Forest. It only took two days to germinate using the paper towel method, and believe it or not, she was showing her head through the soil just hours after I put her in. Crazy! I was expecting to have more time (a couple days) to get my grow area situated before she actually showed so that's another reason why I'm ill prepared. I know some people say that Ocean Forest burns plants but I have seen lots of grows where the seeds started just fine in it and don't expect to have any issues.
She's only under one 20w 2700k CFL. Will definitely be picking up some 6500ks on pay day and have an equal amount of 2700ks mixed in the actual cab I plan to grow her in. Nutes will be a secret mix that I will maybe share at a later date .
The cab itself is going to made from an old end table that was going to be thrown in the garbage.
Painted the inside flat white and painted the outside with primer.
And this is the near finished product....
I scrapped the drawers and decided I am going to go to Lowe's, get two pieces of wood cut, buy hinges for them, and set it up so that they open out for better access and use of space. Figure that I will have to use sealant on the bottom of the cab as there are some spaces since the bottom is made from cardboard. Will also staple some chicken wire to the bottom of the cab to reinforce the cardboard and then cover it with plastic so it doesn't end up wet / moldy. Will also drill holes into the bottom for a passive intake, and install a PC fan in the back right corner. Think I will just go with one large fan rather than two smaller fans, and eventually set up a carbon filter.
Not exactly sure how I will have the lights setup...thinking I will install fixtures onto a piece of wood and install chains going from it to the ceiling for easy lowering and raising. All training will probably be LST though I am thinking of doing a scrog on one just to see how it goes.
Well that's all for now. Will be updating often so feel free to sub or check back with me often .
