Gel and water ???

Quick question I read some guys mix cloning gel in the water that they soak there jiffies in , and then still dip cutting in the gel what are yarl thorts ? Sounds like a cool trick to help with rooting , if so what ratio do you guys suggest?

When cloning , I just use tap water . No roots yet .
I'm not knocking using rooting gel / powder in the water . It's just that I have never tried it .
You could be on to something . If it works , it would be worth the extra cost .
