General Hydroponics: Rapid Rooter

How do I store unused Rapid Rooters?

Unfortunately, the only available quantity of these things is 50 per bag, and they're quite pricey.

I've used half a dozen or so, and have kept the rest in a cool dark corner of my basement sealed in the bag they came in since March. I probably wont need them again till next winter.

I suppose I could freeze them, but I'd rather not have them in my freezer (to avoid questions from nosy friends and relatives.

So a cool dark place sealed up in the original baggie is ok then? Good. How much H2O2 do you mix into your pre-soak? Do you add a little bloom fert in it too? Do you use distilled water?

If mold were to grow on the plugs, do you toss them? I didn't see any mold on mine. However, there is a some condensate on the bottom of the bag. That should be ok, right? If they get moldy they'll get tossed. Better safe than sorry.

I use a pre soak made especially for cutting's..There are so many to choose from. The H2O2 is relatively harmless so I just squirt it in, 2-3 tsp per gallon easily.Wont hurt the plant's and sterilizes the rooter. As long as they don't dry out they are useable..No special water, Ph 5.5..
