Geotracking

Hey guys just read an interesting article on geotagging. If you are taking pictures with a smartphone or other smart devices, you need to be aware of this. This can be used by Law Enforcement and people who cyber case houses to rip off. Just google geotagging to find out more. There are ways to turn this feature off on your smartphone. Basically any pic taken with a smartphone leaves a tag of longitude and latitude of where the pic was taken. With the right program available online, anyone who knows how can find the coordinates to your house, it will even show up on Google maps. Anyone else read about this yet?

This isn't specific to geotracking for cellphones, normal digital cameras/webcams and produce "exif" data aswell, they made "exif" cleaners to clean your pics, otherwise if someone gets a uncleaned photo they can take that and strip exif data from it, and then search all photos uploaded by that serial number of camera via google, this leads to privacy issues, people being targeted after making mistakes, especially like younger girls who get on webcam type chats and then get blackmailed on facebook or real life sites where they had no connection to the place they were uploading other type of pictures/webcams ect.
