Germinated seeds into FFOF and soil ?

I just got some foxfarm ocean forest soil and few germinated NL seeds.
I had few questions..

1)Can i plant these into soil now that all have little tails sticking out? They just started sprouting after 30hrs.
Is FFOF soil safe to start to end?

2) When i mix the foxfarm soil do i wet the soil before i plant the seeds or just put soil in container and plant seed and spray top??

3)I dont have a ph meter yet so i was thinking to mix 70% filtered water and 30% tap water? Will that be ok?

4) How far from the soil should i put my cfl's lights for the seedlings to pop out of the soil? I have 6 plants with 12 cfls. Should i just use 4~5 cfls until seedlings pop out?

5)How long should i wait until i plant the seeds? They all JUST started to show tails.

thanks

Wait another 8-12 hrs so the rootlet (tail) is really stickin out. The bury it 2 seeds (sideways) deep with rootlet pointing down. Then lightly water soil. Put lights 6-10 inches away until they pop up. And yes its ok to put them in FF OC. I have many many times and never a burn. I am useing now. Check my link below.
Also the tap water needs to sit out for 24 hrs so chlorine will fade away (evaporate).
But use only bottled water the first week or two.
A good ph meter is about 75 and up, you need one more for a good grow.

Well after you put soil in container go ahead and flood soil and let it drain out for 12-24 hrs then put in rootlet. Then after that just mist top for a few days then a little water when needed (bottle) and never let the soil go dry, right now keep it semi moist.

I use FFOF too, great stuff. organic all the way! To answer your questions...

Wait until the taproot is about a half-inch long before you plant into soil. Only bury it about a half-inch deep, with the root facing down. Any deeper will force the plant to stretch.

Yes, FFOF is safe to use from seed to harvest. Some prefer mixing pearlite in the mix but it already has some. I use it straight from the bag.

2) When i mix the foxfarm soil do i wet the soil before i plant the seeds or just put soil in container and plant seed and spray top?

Lightly water right before planting then mix the soil around a bit. FFOF retains alot of moisture so don't water too much.

If you live in the US, you can use plain tap water. Anything that is safe for you to drink is safe for your plants to drink. If you're worried about chlorine, let the water sit an an open container for 24 hours.

Put the lights about 6 inches to a foot above the top soil until the seedlings sprout. CFL's dont produce alot of heat so you can keep them pretty close to your plants.

5)How long should i wait until i plant the seeds? They all JUST started to show tails.

Plant as soon as the taproot grows about a half-inch long.

happy growing :bigjoint:

It's very important to get a Ph meter as soon as possible! It's all about the the ph being balanced out for the roots to uptake nutes. Like with seedlings you want your ph to be 6.3 then as they get into veg stage you want 6.5, now of course you can stay in a 6.5 -7.0 range and be ok. But optimal conditions means Bigger and Better everything.

if you dont wanna drop the cash for a proper meter, you can always just get a pool ph test kit. thats what i use.

pH meter is reccomended, but not necessary when using FFOF soil. The pH is already formulated for optimum fertilizer uptake. It never hurts to test your runoff water though..

You need to know the ph of your water, it will effect the soil 100% . Just test the water after you add whatever.

just want to second that... i know, i dropped my water ph too much and by the time it started screwing with my grow the soil was already way low ph. took 2 weeks and 2 flushes to get them all to the point where they are now. most of the problems have stopped. and most plants are budding up pretty good.

Thanks guys just got the soil and pots setup and lights all leveled.
While i putting the soil i noticed the soil gets soaked very fast. So i decided to just put 2 inches of soil at a time and spray layer of it with water and keep doing that until i reached the top. Not to soaked but just wet enough when i put my finger in the soil.

Im planning to let the soil "soak in" the pot and will be putting the germinated seedlings in a hour or so..And lights on to my first grow!!

Im just worried since it rained last night the humid is at 90%!!!!!!! .. It doesnt feel wet or damp at all at the space.
Just turned the fan on and intakes fans running with the pots in the space.
Hope i can decrease some humid.. Or it doesnt affect the veging stage.

I have a commercial dehumifier which sucks in MADD WATER.. Should i leave that in the room for a day and lower the place?
When i use this dehumifier in my basement room. It sucks it dry within few hours...

Also 1 more question is how PACKED does the soil need to be? I BARLEY packed it. I just pampered the top after filling it with a bowl and watering it a bit. Good enough?

Thanks again.
