Germinated seeds need light?

okay so i germinated my seeds in the dark and they ahve lil spikes coming out and i have planted them room down just under some wet soil. My question is do i turn a light on straight away?

Best to put them in a warm shaded area. It is too early to put them under direct light.

No. Don't turn on the lights. Its best to wait till a majority of them are above ground, then add your light.

Hmmm, seems a tennis match, yes, no, yes no.....

You want to stimulate root growth, and avoid them stretching. And they will stretch without lights..... CFL very close, 16/8 a couple of days so they grow their roots in darkness imo. Works fine here anyway. Soil damp and moist, not soaked!

(my problems with plants comes on later stages ;) )

Light is energy, without energy they won´t grow.....
