i have germinated many seeds over the years all outside soil, my success rate is good but it is lower than 99.9% .. seems your method has the advantage
either you have not grown that many seeds. or you are an expert or perhaps i should plant my seeds in dirt before i transfer them to Hydro and achieve 99.9% success like yourself

I drop straight into Root Shooters, rockwool cubes and directly into seedling mix in 4" planters. About the same success rate as you. The paper towels give no benefit. Neither does dunking them in water.
yeh whatever works for you m8.. i always sprout more seeds than i need, then i pick the better looking ones and kill off the not so good looking
There nothing more than seed viability tests. I've read that fresh seed have a very high success rate, and as time goes by and the seed ages that success rate drop some. I'm unsure at what seed age this happens. Environment plays a big part, where you keep your seeds. I only buy seeds, and sow to soil. Almost all of them sprout. But I don't keep seeds longer than 6 months.
They will last many years if you just keep them in the fridge
nice, so you are talking normal seeds and not femm seeds then? some of them new seeds are like 13$ or more apiece. i use mostly femm seeds. how is your male female ratio? before i use these new ones and just grew bag seeds i have a pretty good ratio (luck i'm sure) of like 70% or soi always sprout more seeds than i need, then i pick the better looking ones and kill off the not so good looking
gotCha, i choose the seeds by buying them i guess haaa i drop them in the container there going to live there lives in so there's never a transplant, kinda wierdly cool to see a 5 day old sprout in the middle of a 10 gallon bucket

Works for me as well. People have tried to scold me out of the paper towel method but it works! All that matters.
For me out of over 100 fem seeds only three have hermed. Two were my fault(I assume)early on as a novice when I didn't have my main flower room light proof, the last was a Grapefruit Krush and it was the only plant in veg out of six that refused to show sex before 12/12 flip, about 1 week into 12/12 it clearly showed the typical clusters of pollen sacs beginning at the nodes.yeh i grow reg seeds most of the time, the odd fem freebie perhaps
the seeds do cost lots i agree, but if the end result is a good keeper plant it is worth it
i do tend to avoid the most expensive strains, i did give in recently with fire alien kush from OG raskal i have not started them yet
the male female ratio is about even from 10 reg seeds 4 healthy females would be ok, although on my last run, i got 7 females from 10 blues reg seeds
i do not have any real issue with fem seeds, when i started growing there wasn't any fem seeds unless you grew out your own s1s
i guess i just stick with what i know, i maybe wrong but i feel that when you grow with reg seeds you can trust your females more to not show hemi signs in the middle of flower
i do not think i have ever seen a reg seed plant turn hemi during its middle growth, if it is hemi with reg seeds it shows it when flowering starts, i have had a few fem seeds that seemed fine until week 4 of flower
then they showed lots of male flowers, i would rather use reg seeds so when i identify a female during pre-flower i feel i can trust it, not so sure with fems i always have my eye on them lol
