I prefer to have the lights on. That way when they break soil they have something to reach for

If you go with lights either dim the lights or raise the lights imagine a new born baby first time it opens its eyes it ain’t going to be happy if it’s under a flood light ☮

Lights on. What kind of light again? I'm currently using 6400k cfl's x3 over 3 seedlings about 4 inches. all in close proximity on a heated mat. Do you have a set up ready for them to grow in?

I use T5s/cfl light for the temps once they've all sprouted they go under mh, I start it around 5ft I lower it over the course of 24hrs.

Once I get the hang of my led I expect it'll be superior to T5s and cfl I find them to slow to be used for more than a couple of days.
Not being the quickest can work in my benift, I cut 10 clones a couple of weeks ago I'm in no rush for them as they won't be needed for around 8 weeks, the slower growth rate makes them easier to look after over that period, the last thing I want is maintenance of a small forrest :-(
