Germinating

okay....i have a lil question about germinating seeds....i know the paper towell method and i think thats the best way to do it....however ive seen lots of pics of these lil short stumpy plants that are all bushy like...is that the indica/sativa stuff or is that a grow method....when it first comes out with the two lil leaves does it need to go right under the light right then??? or is it supposed to go under the light even before it sprouts outta the dirt???can someone help me with this....gettin ready to flower some but they got tall n lanky n i want some short fat ones...someone help a brotha out

You don't need light to germinate pot, there are many plants that do, wild dagga comes to mind.
Soon as they pop up out of the soil ad light then, not too strong, not too hot.
If you keep them in the dark, they will stretch way out looking for the sun.

On my last ones I did no light just took them outside after they popped out is that why they got tall? Will any strain grow short abd fat if you get the light close enough when they are young or should i try to train them by strapping them down?

Lowryders grow very short, another way ive heard to keep em short is to limit root space.

No that would be caused by a great location for your plant and genetics.
Sativa can reach 18' in one season, Indica about 3' to maybe 5' these
are ruff numbers OK.
If you want them short and fat try the fim method
and any of the other methods, or all of them...

Okay..yeh i do have one that i did the fim method on and it bushed out a lil bit...how long generally do u leave them in veg...i just started flowering mine n they were in veg about 2 mths...im starting germination tonight of bout 4 more....i wana make my next time better than this time and im not even done with this one yet....i tied one of them down the other day and everything is facing up so ima see what that does...but my one with the fim done and the one that i just let grow are going....how long after u start flowering do u see preflowers..???how long after u see preflowers do u have to get males outta there???

to tell you the truth i just germinated and planted the seeds. then after that i just put them in the soil and put them outside with the regular sun....they took 2-3 days to sprout up and after that its all a process.
