you should be fine for a day or two, if it germs..but as soon as you get home put in some medium...i once left seeds in a cup of water for a week and the ones that sprouted grew long roots so you will be fine..
next time put a dab of hydrogen peroxide in the water too. If you have any rooting powder put a few crumbs of that in too. Soak for 12 - 24 hours. Great germination cocktail.
what is the peroxide for?
i am guessing to kill bacteria and fungus?
right on, man, thanks. Do you think that would help germinating seeds in a paper towel?
i agree dude, these guyz should read more before they preform anything,,Hey Bearhosh,
Welcome to RIU. I would strongly advise reviewing the GrowFAQs. They will help you imensly. As for having problems with germinating. When you get the seeds, first test to see if they are viable by gently rolling them between your fingers. If they crack, they are no good. Second, take an empty matchbox, glue some sand paper to the bottom, place the seeds in the box and shake. The scarifys the seeds to allow water to better penetrate. Then soak in distilled water (best if you put on a heat pad ~90degrees) with a VERY SMALL dab of H2O2, for 24 hours. After this place in your soil, keep in a warm moist environment.
I have better luck with the paper towel method only because you see which seed sprouted as opposed to waiting a week for it to penitrate the soil, but I also advise against it. Seedling's roots are very sensitive and can be damaged.
Good luck, read the GrowFAQs, and keep us posted.
