I'm too stoned to give this thread the proper introduction it deserves, but no matter, this thread is about an over-the-counter heartburn medication called Tagamet. The actual drug is cimetidine. Anyway, supposedly if you take a dose of this medication (recommendation that I've heard is 800 mg or 4 pills) about 45 minutes to an hour before you smoke, you will get super baked for longer than usual off a small amount of bud.
I'm too high to remember exactly how or to even bother checking another internet source, but Tagamet basically prevents cannabinoids from being filtered through your liver for a few hours, or something very similar to that. So...you smoke and get a large buildup of THC and other cannabinoids and they stay floating in your body for like 3 or 4 hours instead of being normally filtered out. It's doesn't 100% block the filtering, but it blocks it quite a bit.
One of my very experienced psychedelic-using friends recently tried taking 4 Tagamet before a toke (this guy has a high tolerance and needs 2 bowls of good chron to get high) and said that he was stoned stupid for 5 hours off 3 hits. I don't know if that's a realistic expectation, but I've heard multiple accounts of Tagamet being used to increase and lengthen a weed high, and I plan on trying it soon.
Perhaps someone here has some experience? Or maybe someone else can properly explain how this works?
