Getting legal

Ok, I know I should have done this a while ago but I didn't and now it may be a bit harder. Does anyone know of a Doctor that will certify with no medical records? I literally have not seen a doctor in over thirty years, since I was young enough for my parents to take me. I know the laws that went into effect April 1 make it a bit harder but I'm sure there has to be a few "friendly" Drs. out there. Prefer the Detroit metro area but will be willing to take a small road trip. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Nope unless you want a signature worth nothing in court or revoked later on , the three ring circus show of pot docs signing anyone is coming to a close .. New laws in effect in regards to what is a Bona fide Doctor/Patient relationship ..

Perhaps begin to document some medical condition(s) even if it means going to a free community clinic

I have no problem seeing a real doctor and doing exams, etc. I just have no records whatsoever and no insurance where I work so the cost would be somewhat prohibitive. Even before the new laws, I would not have gone to a card mill, but there has to be a real, decent doc out there that I can establish a bona fide rapport with. The new rules don't even necessarily state that you need past records, it basically says no more internet or telephone certs. Hopefully someone will chime in later with some useful info.

yep, gotta get something on file. sure you could get a 'cert' at alot of places ,but like Prof said, it won't be worth much. I hate going to the doctor more than anything, and they can't do anything for me, but my old certification doc told me I NEED to go to my primary care doc at least once a year to keep things kosher. That gives them something to show the court to save their butt and yours.

If your condition is bad enough to require special permission in the form of a card to use expensive cannabis, it is bad enough to get it documented. No record certifications will not protect you, nor will a doctor that you can't get to testify for you.

Well Dave is a good guy, but doesn't go to Detroit and either do I.

Bob Kenewell (Dr. Bix) is over in Troy and does a decent job. I don't know others. I try and avoid SE Michigan you know...lol

I am taking over another doctor's office in Ann Arbor soon, but not accepting patients there yet.

Kumar is good too. I helped him get into the field. He started up in Burton and I always associated him with that area. Sorry about that just forgot he had an office down there too.

Thanks guys. Kzoo is a bit far, guess I should have taken the time to do this when I was in AnnArbor last Saturday, but didn't. I'm actually nowhere near Detroit, but figured that was the most populous area to look in as far as doctors. Might look into the 15 and Northwestern area though, or just take a day and make a road trip.
