Getting ready to flip - Plant pot size recommendation

Hey I'm getting ready to flip my plants to 12/12. They are currently in a 1.66 gallon pot. They are about 22inches tall. Will going to a bigger pot give me a bigger yield? If not should I even bother. If the pot is too big I learned that the plant concentrate on growing the roots rather than the stems and foliage. Does that principle still apply?

From what I've heard ya that would probably be the case but I can't see it being a bad thing. I think if you leave it you run the risk of getting rootbound, which would be worse for it I think. I would repot it and let it settle into it's new home a bit before flipping to flower. Looks awesome!

Thanks!

Do you think giving it a week after moving to a bigger pot is enough and then flip them?

I think so, I'm only on my first grow myself but my vague understanding of botony tells me that should be ok. I say go for it. Judging by how she looks you've got a greenthumb and it's all smooth sailin'. Unless something goes terribly wrong, you're golden.

i always hear to up the pot size before tossing into flower. something about less stress on the plant. but im still a newb myself, but have been reading grow threads for 2 months now. less stress in flower reduces the chances of a hermi. id flip before flower. ill be going from clone/cup, to 1 gal transplant, then to either 3 or 5 gallon pots (havent decided yet).

id transplant into a 5g pot and then veg for an aditional week with a long dark period. something like 16/8 or 18/6. Roots grow more at night and this would help get the plant established into its new home before flowering, and help build a nice strong root system to support a big healthy plant. Thats my opinion anyways
