glass for diy air cooled reflector

Hey people,

I'm having heat problems. I want to turn my simple open reflector into air cooled one.
Does anyone know whether I should get some special glass or any simple glass will do?
Is this a good idea anyway?

Thanks
David

because tempered glass has been treated to make it harder to break and more resistant to heat. just google it to find a local glass dealer.

I used 2mm regular glass.
Fixed it using heat resisting silicone to the wing reflector I have.
Used mylar to close both sides (cut 4" holes in each side for air sucking).
Cheap diy air cooled reflector - works really well. Will post pictures if anyone is interested. :)

I am trying to find a glass shop locally that can get me a bunch of 5.5"x12" glass tubes to make cool tubes with. I will post pics of that when its done, it's pretty cool check out my thread for some details.
