hi people ...iv been using glucose c (99.95% dextrose 0.05% vit c)
every water in flower and its 4week in.

im starting this thread for a few reasons ...mainly for expert info on sugars and carbs.

my plant seems to love it ....getting frosty and stinky.

its only £1.89 600g from the chemist

not an expert but sugar helps fruiting 'anything' and the good thing is excess sugar gets translocated to lower elements (branches).its best tho to use black strap molasses,imo,cuz of trace elements and natural

iv looked into the mollasis and its full of stuff that's allready in your medium....mollassis is 29% carbs per 100 g

glucose c is 99.95% carbs per 100g.

basicly mollosis is shit compared .

I wouldn't know.

People use it to fuel microbes in soil. I use hydro, coco, and soiless mixture indoors. Also I use mostly nitrate nitrogen with no organic amendments or urea based nitrogen.

I've always wanted an outdoor organic hoop house, so I suppose I should learn.

--i wouldn't really worry too much about supplementing VitC with your mj plants, but if you do, please feel free to post the anecdotal data you gather with VitC supplements in your grows~

and about the sweeteners (sugars/carbs).. from my point of view, it pretty much feeds the (microbes/bac/fung/bennies) in your medium, plants make their own "sugars" thru a process called exudation via root system, which in turn helps attract and feed stuff around the "rhizosphere".. and those tiny workers (microbes) in turn help with the everyday enzymatic conversion of raw materials around the roots become viable "plant food" which gets absorbed/used by the plant.. ALSO, it has been researched that plants also take in sugars/carbs directly via roots, so not all the sweet stuff your adding is just for microbes, plants also absorb a % of it...

hope that helps, i still get confused with how the inner workings of what really happens beneath the surface.

the vit c comes with the glucose powder i buy at 0.05%....the rest is 99.95% dextrose.

IN SOIL.
i can only tell you iv been adding 1-2 tbsp / lt every water during flower and there on week 5.
there loving it with no problems at all but iv no idea what the vit c does other than no harm.

the articule says vit c helps to protect against harmfull uv light......does that mean you can up the wattage of uvb light without it harming the plant ?

I would probably only supplement during the last half of flowering.
The microbes flourish with the excess sugars in the soil, but they play a critical role in making minerals available to plants. It is hypothesized that if excess sugars are provided perpetually the symbiotic microbes won't do their job, or will steal nutrients away from the soil. Especially N.
I think the vit C should be a foliar spray if possible. I read somewhere that the plant has a hard time translocating it to the leaves where it's needed.

--that was actually one of the main reasons i looked into VitC supplements for mj, back then i was experimenting with various UVb setups and wanted to see how much uvb i could expose the mj plants with.. i lost all my notes i had concerning this

but from what i can remember VitC "did" help somewhat prevent the stress caused by the high amounts of uvb i was testing~ wish i could give you more info but most of the data i collected was lost.. goodluck

--excess of anything i believe is always gonna turn out not-so-good from personal experience, and the microbes stealing nutes is plausible (i'm more objective than subjective the older i get lolz)... but even with a massive increase in their numbers, all they will do is what nature intended.. which is eat/convert all the raw nutrients (N-iron-P-Mg, etc etc) and turn into "viable" "doo doo" for the plants to absorb via roots and then just die off.. foliar application with the VitC would be a faster way to get that vitamin absorbed by the plant

your uv vitc experement couldn't have been that important for you to forget it..lol......maybe its true?

my plants still had no ill effect from nutrients

....especially N which was meantioned earlier

Iv been doing some reading on carbs and the different types.........AN CARBOLOAD contains 3-4 different carbs but the cannabis plant only makes one ( glucose ).

i read that the plant will store its glucose in its reserve tanks for use about 3 week before chop. When the plant stops producing glucose and concentrates on rippining the bud.....this is suppose to be the best time to use carb boosts..

but i don't understand the other carbs used in AN CARBO-LOAD.

anyone know more

iv done this useing glucose c ( gods honest truth) side by side test , same strain and everything and the glucose fed one was absolutely covered in frost while the other .... Well .... Not too much

I'll never not use it again
