Gnoot the Gnomes Organic Garden - DIY COBs

Recently finished building my first LED lamp. figured id post some pics to keep track of it. Just flipped em to 12/12 2 days ago. vegged under 600w hps for a week or so until i found a 600w MH bulb i didnt even realize i had!
Using FFOF. theyve had great white for the roots and bs molasses to feed the little funguses! not much else during veg for extra nutes. have fox farms line of nutes however when i am using. gave em a 700ppm feed before switching to 12/12. I like to use the ribbon/string for my trellis because its adjustable and flexible and dirt cheap. 47cents a pop at the wal mart. usually costs less than $1.50 to do a screen for 4x4 tent.

the lamp is 12x CXB3590 3500k on passive cooled heatsinks 5.88" x 38" . 4 each @ 50w per driver. using meanwell HLG-185-1400

going well. this from day 10 flower. couldnt get other photos to upload for whatever reason. but whole canopy is like this. probably 25-30 tops per plant. very satisfied with the performance of these lights to say the least.. just put in another order to jerry @ kingbrite last night to build another identical setup.

2nd pic is plants from the veg tent, 3 of which will move to a new tent with the new lights once everything ships. the rest will flower under a new eye hortilux super hps bulb and probably be my final hps run...plan to have 3 tents with 600w cxb3590s.. veg closet will be about 2.5x5 in the future and probably will build a 2-300w 5000k lamp


left to right: Fireballs x3 (10 days veg) , Lemon OG x3 , Cherry Pie x2 (both at 2 weeks veg) -- depends what turns out female but id like to do the fireballs/strongest Lemon OG under new light and rest under the 600w hps.

18 day flower -- edit..unrelated to current flower tent, ordered 600w solistek ballast today only $117 to go with the new hortilux bulb to flower the 3rd tent going hps. my old ballast is fairly old and generic so i expect to see better results from that compared to previous hps grows.. though this cxb grow is blowing anything ive done previously right out of the water.

Begin week 4. Flower day 29. need more frosties. Veg tent status 3 female lemon og 2 female cherry pie. fireballs undetermined. may pull the cherry pies out and slow them down under 250w cfl if the fireballs are all female and do 1 tent LOG & 1 FB

Man,this grow is like looking in my grow room...crazy.
That cherry pie is looking spot on to the one I'm running,and the fireballs..I just did a run of my cut...

I hope you get all females. ..a nice short one,with a sweet gasses terps. .fire.

Great looking grow man. Im also going with 3590s @ 50w but have some v29s mixed in. What is your cob to canopy spacing? Have you messed around with the distance at all?

i kept them pretty close like 8" the first 2.5ish weeks of flower for that extra penetration..some points they even got to 6" before i got to adjusting them. no problems whatsoever. a buddy was over checking out the lights early on and asked why i didnt prune more at the bottom and lollipop them, but even those very very bottom bud sites made their way to the canopy. with nice dense nodes along the way down too. after they were done stretching i brought the lights up a few inches theyre at 14-16"ish right now.
i also should have vegged them another week or so to fill in a couple small spots in the screen but got antsy with my new toys. so that'll cut the potential yield down but not too worried next run will be even better.

Unfortunately looks like i'll be taking some cuts from our girl up top. if i had room for a man cave i'd set these studs up to keep some seeds and pollen around. but alas! shameful to put them down.

Roots n stuff. .. . Fireballs . Cut 6 clones from her yesterday. they'll go in the tent these cherry pies are in soon as they harvest in 2 weeks.
