go or no-go?

Recently I stumbled on this here: http://www.tomtop.com/led-grow-lights-360/p-l1346eu.html

So this is about 90 bucks for a 300 W led set. I was thinking of switching from a 500 W cfl setup to 2 sets of this + some cfl support.
Is stuff like this just too dodgy or OK to give it a go in combination with a few hundred watts of extra cfl side lighting?

I know many will say to invest a little for more but as a simple hobby grower I refuse to spend a thousand bucks on a few led sets. It just goes against my principles, I'd rather stay with cfl's then.

A simple go/no-go is all I'm looking for. So shoot!

Thanks, G

Thanks, I expected as much. So, very basically, I put 20 sockets on a wooden plate, screw in twenty 15 watt LEDs, hang that over my plants and am good to go?

yup. pop those covers off (watch as some have exposed electrical terminals)

2700k and 5000k are common for those

I'll give those 5k a try for vegging. With my last cfl grows I got kinda lazy and did both cycles under 2700k - I have to add, with almost the same yields as I got before. Just goes to show that proper feeding and air- and stresscontrol go a long way too - but switching to LED will be a good chance to tighten up and go for max results again. Could you also tell me what would be the ideal distance between this 300 watt panel and the canopy?
