Hey all,

This is my first post here. I have recently started my first grow. I have two cfl GreenLamp bulbs. one is 6700k and the other 2700k. My plant is 20 days old on Friday. I plan on going away on Sunday AM and not returning till possibly Wednesday. I don't have a timer switch instead I have my Auto #1 on a 24 hour light cycle.

By leaving my lights on unchecked for up to four days am I risking burning my house down?

At What height do you think I should set my lights above my plant?

I get direct sun light through my windows between 0800 and 1430 providing its sunny (Im in UK).. how badly would it effect the plant if I left it on the window ledge for a few days?

Thanks.

I have attached a pic of one of the bulbs (I think they are pretty big, I may be wrong)

Also attached a pic of my plant from this morning.

Hey dude, if you have RCD protection on the circuit you are using then low risk of burning your house down.
Light through the window is real lame compared to your lights, wouldn't want to see your lovely girls stretch.
I've had plants grow an inch a day so if you leave em under your lights allow enough space for growth, and then add a few more inches just to keep the heat down so your girls don't need to drink as much.

Are you saying "lovely Girls" in regards to the plants in general. Or are you saying that mine looks alright and I'm on the right track.

My money is very limited atm so I used the soil shown in the pic. The soil says it feeds plants for up to six months. will I need to use any additional nutes?

i would back off the lights to 1 foot away and give a heavy ass watering, they should be fine

on the other hand just putting it in a window would most likely be less intense , just make sure the plant has already been introduced to direct sun before just letting it bask in it for several hours

My plants are already used to the sun. Most days Im here for the morning. So I like to give my lights a rest and give the plant some direct sun and breeze

my suggestion would be to hang the lights on the side of the plant that way it wont grow up into the lights since i dont think side branching is going to grow into the light as long as you leave a couple inches on the side

in theory as long as your circuitry is current and properly bonded then the risk off electrical hazard is next to none, but that is a big if. you wouldn't believe the wiring i see out in the field it would scare anyone who knew what they were looking at
