Going to turn this closet into a clone room, suggestions and advice needed

So the temperatures outside have been in the 40s and 50s, my grow tent is outside but because I have a heater in it it stays in mid 70s. But my clones are expose to this cold weather, and while its not killing them I know its slowing their growth.

So I have a closet in my bedroom I have never used, cleared it out, drilled a hole to run the power cable for the t5 ballast im going to use for clones until they are ready to move into the tent. But my main issue is fresh co2 air, I am going to put a fan in there with the light, but I forsee fresh air becoming an issue. But here is what I am working with, its not against an outside wall. Advice on how to turn this into a successful cloning room is appreciated

Cloning room or vegging room? If its just for cloning you'll have enough fresh air just opening the door to check on them and removing the humidity dome. Either way unless the door is sealed tight you should have enough air getting in and out from your fan. Set your fan on the floor sucking air in from the bottom of the door slightly pressurizing the room, the air should escape out the top. Unless the room is air tight, and you have already drilled a hole for the power, you should be OK. For cloning or vegging total light blackout isn't a real big issue. You can clone or veg with 24 hour lighting, hell leave the door cracked open a little.

Hey Rolificer, Starting out with the same closet. Is working out well. 250w MH/MPS, 4 in filter and fan exhaust, 4 in passive intake. I had the attic access panel in the closet and vented thru there. And the clothes rod has come in real handy for hanging my light, routing pwr cables and tying back the vent hoses. One thing I have to go back and redo today is reflective insulation board on the walls, sleeping temps are down to 62ish, waking temps 78.Good luck, I'm having a riot with my first grow.

Still experimenting with filter postion. I'm using it off the upper shelf now.

Your looks alot more professional too, can you link me to those carbon filters? I need to buy some about to start flowering

^^ what the hell is the second length of ducting for, just run the filter on the top shelf, heat rises keep things simple laws of nature are in your favor with it on the closet shelf

what that guy said. ^^^^ in all honesty id run it on the top shelf and i would use a vented hood to maximize airflow.

Thanks, for the compliment
the light kit came from thelashop.com $149

The CF & fan $109 shipped in 7 days before xmas

I put some packing styrfoam under the fan and bubble insulation around the shelf. Not very noisy, but I would like to rubber mount it somehow.

Gotta luv small town hardware stores, been in there more in the last week then I have in 5 years. Told them I was venting and insulating a pantry ;) I got the bubble wrap reflective insulation. This shit is great! Staple gun and done! 96% reflective. Glad the ol guy at tru value didn't ask why when I got all excited over reflective cover !!

For the folks asking about the second duct, it's a passive 4 inch intake, Putting this together over the last few weeks, I've been experiencing temp flucuations of 20 degrees 62-84. The ducting brought my wake temps to 76-78. Sleep temps to 62-64. Between the ducting and the insulation I hope to narrow the range alittle.

Construction Techniques : Smokin, Lookin, Thinkin, smokin some more...doin

I'm 5 days into flower now and the filter works well, hardly any smell in the room off the garden. Had them in a dark bathroom while I was remodeling the garden. Those Sweet Girls are Stinky already.

Haha yeah I have already started taking measurements for the room im going to build. Damn temps in texas flux so much tho, winters down to 20 and summers in triple digits daily. It's going to be a non-stop battle

Rolicer- that's what I hate about the indoor. Temps are messin with me now, prob gonna have to stop in summer just cause I can't keep my ac on all day and night... Okay maybe I'll just do 1 or 2 plants in summer ;p

Still fighting temps, but ready to give up. 60-62 sleeping temps, 74-76 waking temps. Gonna have to be close enough. Closed the passive intake it really didn't change that much. Mountains of AZ here. Hope it stays that cool in the summer!!

Those temps seem pretty good... Or is the down time to cool? I never got mine below 70 so havnt had to worry about that

Great space to do so much...depending on the size of your grow you could break it up horizonally or vertically depending on how you want to close everything off. Either way, you have many options.

got a cheap min/max thermometer from Home Depot $9.98

No more sneaking in all day to see what the temps are! It's running between 60-78 degrees and 38-77 humid. Have tried the raising humidity by throwing a wet wash clothe over the fan, helps raise the humidity when the lights are running. I think this battle is done. Without throwing more money at it or construction this temp/humidity range is working well. The girls seem happy. A week into flowering and the buds are coming in already. Pretty lil white hairs! Matching up with pics, they look like week 3 or 4.

Not really sure why the passive vent didn't seem to effect the space much. Leaving it in to experiment with this summer.

JamCe- Next step is a setup for cloning. If I move the fan into the attic I may have enough shelf left. But getting the veg, flower area light sealed may be tough. Sliding closet doors. It was hard enough to talk my lady out of one closet! It was a crisis of epic proportions! Gee you got 2 more!
