I wouldn't use soil with synthetic fertilizers already in it...
I've been using "Nature's Care Organic & Natural Potting Mix with Water Conserve"
It has Alfalfa Meal, Bone Meal, Earthworm Castings, Kelp Meal, Peat Moss, Coco Coir, Yucca, and Perlite.
And it is OMRI certified, so you know that it is 100% organic.
It's only 10 dollars for one of those huge bags at Home Depot or Lowes, and it's not as expensive as those 30 or 40 dollar bags of Fox Farms Ocean Forest.

This is my plant growing in Nature's Care Natural Potting Mix at 5 weeks old... The green onions are also growing in the same soil, and they are at 1 week old.

Everybody is on this Fox Farms bandwagon, wish that wagon would burn to the ground already
I jumped on the bandwagon to see what was up and my plants look like shit. They say it's complete and you don't need to add anything. Mine looked like shit from week 1. If I was using Pro Mix I would know if they are over fertilized or under fertilized. With the OF they look under fed but I can't really tell. I have some DWC's beside them that are about 4 weeks later and 4 times healthier and twice as big. Oh well, I had to try it, live and learn. I'm sure it can be made to work with more experience but it isn't as easy as it's made out to be. No wonder noobs have so much trouble with it.
