Good Strains For Beginners

Ok. I have pretty much decided that which seed bank I am going to use, for privacy reasons I will not mention them here, what I am hoping to get help with now is which strain(s) to pick up. I am a straight beginner and am looking for something that I can learn from and make mistakes with and still give me a fair yield. I am only growing for myself so the yield does not have to be mega huge.

I want to grow short plants so I am leaning towards ruderalis type strains. Any suggestions on good prospects would be greatly appreciated.

Hello ! something as Skunks, maybe Skunk#1 or super skunk. The Skunks are plants really easy to grow, try some skunk hybrid, for example from nirvana seedbank, is cheap and nice.
Also as GHOPZZ said, widows, ppp, belladona, dutch dragon... etc

Autoflowering strains are very fast but the final product is not special, a lot of leaves with resin and a low calix/leaves ratio. I grew Lowryder 1, 2, White Dwarf, Roadrunner 2 and Big devil and i´ll never grow an autoflowering plant again.

northern lights is great for beginners and has little smell while growing, you can make any plant small with a little lst.

Lowlife AK-47. My first grow, still my favorite. Still have some left.

The plant was so strong -- it makes my face numb, partially black-out, I stupidly dance around the room, and have a hell of a time.

I have relegated this strain to "weekend only" status.

stay away from pure sativa breeds, their very tempremental , indica's are usually easier to grow, someone mentioned northern lights, it is a really strain to start of with

Nirvana's Northern Lights all the way. Low order, somewhat short, decent yields, decent smoke. I really liked it, and it's an inexpensive bean to learn on :)

I will definitely back you up on this one, I just harvested my ak47 automatic. This pot is great, very resinous and it smells and tastes great. I plan on growing this strain again.

Well, Had I planted directly into the pots I would have had very different results. I believe that transplanting them caused much stress on some more than others, resulting in a lot of variation on height. the biggest plant I got 40 grams, the smallest one I had 5. I had 9 plants and got between 5.5 and 6 ounces(they aren't all totally dry yet, so I can't say for sure). Had I planted directly into the soil, I'm sure there would have been more uniformity and I would have yielded more.

30 to 40 per is great turn around, I have done a lot of reading on this topic, and with what I’m doing (small stealth) its great , good yield , great smoke, 1 gallon pots ( taking up less space) and your correct going direct to 1 gallon pots is best, the lowlife is small so just start it there !
