got my magnifying glass In!!

Im just in my 6th week of flowering maui wowi and white rhino. I know its early but I just got my magnifying glass in and wanted to show what it looks like when plants are not ready. No milky one yet...

I just wait for the white hairs to turn red or amber. I harvest when about 75 percent of the white hairs have turned red or amber.

i stopped goin by hairs once i had a strain that didnt turn more than 25% of the hairs and it was about 50% cloudy and 50% amber. haha

So hairs only work if youve ran the strain before and know what they look like when theyre ready.

Youll need at least 2 weeks for both if not a little more for the maui

This is my first grow. Im just going by the hairs first. Not sure if anyone messed with Maui wowi and knows better. Same with my rhino. But I know they arent close to getting dont buds are just starting to put on daily weight a few more weeks! Im getting too damn impatient though haha. I wanna smoke the fruits of my labor

It's good that you can eyeball the trichs now. I looked at mine under my new digital scope today. Makes sharing pics a snap.

What magnification is that? To me that's almost perfect. I like being able to see a wide area, even though it means giving up some detail. I use 10x Jeweler's loupe by Belomo.

I use a 30x magnifier. I bought it for 1 penny on amazon and just taped it on the back of my phone to use it with my camera. Yeah you can call me Macgyver.

Yeah i bought a 60x for 2 cents !!!

You probably were growing a sativa dominant strain, something requiring a longer flowering time. If the hairs stopped changing colors, the plant could have gone into shock. Eventually, once a plant reaches full maturity, every hair will turn red or amber, and it has been that way with every strain I have encountered.

On most MJ plants...
Hairs will recede... white/red/brown... when plant is almost ready, most hairs will recede...[where they go?] Calyxes will become swollen [where you see the two hairs come out of what looks like a seed]...it looks like a seed will pop out, any second...
Trichromes will almost all be milky/cloudy [90+%]
A Few will be clear, most MJ plants keep making Tric's and so it's inevedable your plant will be harvested with some clear [around 5% or less]...
Amber Trics = degraded THC...
Full potency ? Harvest when this above happens...
So, when you see amber.... Pull it...dry it...cure it...smoke it...
