I'm in need of a new project! lol! (Guess I'm out growing my boob credentials.) Could be handy for those lucky people who grow legally, but are limited to a number of plants...And fun for the rest of us to have a growing "Pick 'n' Mix"....
You tube it. I saw an oregon grower called thinkgreen or somthing like that try it. HE failed for various reasons, but the theory is valid. The broblem is getting the grapht to stay attached you need to wrap it up and provide moisture at the same time. This is most likely going to cause some stem rot and or mould. Much practice and many failed attempts would be needed to pull it off. Most growers are not going to potentially going to waste time on a high risk attempt such as graphting.
I'm sure it can be done. Works with practically every other plant I know of but it is tricky with even the easiest plant to graft such as fruit trees. If this is your first time grafting I would be surprised if you succeed. Too more than one season and a couple of lectures for me to get it down. Not that that's any indication of how good you will be at it but I'm just saying. Very definite windows of opportunity during which it is possible, at least for fruit trees. good luck
