Green crack plant dying, droopy/curled leaves, yellow and brown tips

This is a crappy photo, I apologize. This is a piece of an old green crack plant that was destroyed by a dog, then thrown out of an rv into a parking lot. I took it under my wing and dipped the roots into root growth hormone, put it into a peat moss soil, and watered it. it has 5 70 watt equivalent cfl lights on it and a fan to cool the space between lights and plant. Over the past 3 days since I've got it, it has turned yellow at the tips of the leaves (more than before) and the leaves are curled/ droopy. this plant is actually 4 months old even though I just acquired it this week. I will post a pic of the grow materials also. I have no idea of the ph levels and am looking into a ph reader already. It has been 4 inches height-wise from the soil for the past 3 days since I got it. Im guessing it's going into shock, but would love an expert opinion on how to save this little guy, he survived in an rv for 1 month in hardly any light, but ever since i re planted it and gave it a grow room, it seems to have become worse. Help? I want this guy to finally grow! Also the stem has turned from bright green to a sort of green/purple tint.Also, all the sun leaves were taken off before it was transplanted by the previous owner, he said it would help the plant heal better.

#1 problem in my personal opinion is nute burn. That Miracle Grow is killing it. At this point your only option to save it is to try and clone it in a bubbler, or carefully uproot it and hope you can save some of the roots in a bubbler / coco medium. Honestly I would say a bubbler is your best option, but that's your decision. Most plants that size (regardless of age) stay that size because of a nute overload. All I can get in my area is MG too, and when I started seeds and clones I had to go hydro for the first 2-4 weeks, and then drop them in soil just to be sure they didn't get burnt.

Forgive me because I'm fairly new at this, but is it even possible to get a clone from this plant? I thought they had to be at certain stage of vegetative growth before it can be cloned.

That is one semi bad thing about RIU....you never know what's possible until you try it. Sure there aren't gonna be 10-15 threads here that show it is possible....because nobody is willing to try it. In my personal experience you can clone any plant, at any stage of life......However, the vigor of the plant determines the success rate. That being said, I feel like it is possible to clone a plant this age and size. The most vital concern I have is the health condition of this plant.

In my experience: If it is green, it can live. That being said, I have taken clones that look just like this and had them sitting in a dome.....they took up to 8 weeks to root, but it was possible. You just need to make sure you regulate their carbon dioxide intake, as well as their humidity levels.

If I were you here's what I would do....and I'm gonna be 100% honest with you, that your plant will most likely die. Regardless of your decision.


I would try and break up the soil as loos as possible and pull her out of the ground. try and keep as much of the tap root as possible, and rinse it off imediately. Go buy you a 5-10 gal air pump at wal mart for $5-10 and put it inside of a large plastic coffee can (or bucket of some sort). Check my thread for examples of my small DWC I used with perlite as my medium. it was extremely easy, cheap, and saved MANY of my plants in times of stress.

Basically right now you want to focus on getting your plants roots nothing but pure clean water until it either dies, or shakes back to life.

Give it back to the dog.

I just introduce'd the green crack to my grow a while back im now flowering it . It's a PITA to root as said above dwc or bubble cloner best bet . Even then she's slow run yourself some mango, or a diesel , the fake cookie's or real cut if you can get root fast every strain is different some fast some slow . once she is growing though light water, light food , a short plant keep in mind id veg her a easy 3 to 4 wk's even then likely to only see 3 ft plant max with 12'' of dirt im on wk 4 of the g crack frosty already good luck and that plant could make it thing is do you have 6 month's for it to grow and even then be 12'' tall

also give that thing some water 1 root or not that's bone dry dirt there . death to no water not overdose
