GreenPower000's (1st ever Grow) 12/12 CFL From Seed journal

This is my first ever grow! I'm going to be using CFL's to grow, and I'm gonna pack em in to my box! The more light .. the better !!! I will have dimensions of my box, my setup and pics posted after this weekend. i'm ghetto growing everythign right now with 2 CFL's and 7 sprouts. This weekend is payday weekend... so i gt to go to the hardware store and shop !!! I will update everyone once i get the box straight.

OK I know i suck at updating my journal but..... I did switch out my bulbs today. I had 2 23 Watt 2700K CFL's in my box ( You have no Idea how much that pains me when I type that). Now I have 2 65 Watt 2700K CFL's in my box.


Just look at the size difference !!!! Its crazy. I had to rais my hood as far up as i could get it. I'm starting to have space issues.

Sub'ed up for this grow.... What genetics are you growing out? Also are you using soil?

haha, you should see my 85watt bulbs, they are even bigger than those 65's. Those will work sooo much better than those 23 watt bulbs.

Just some Bag seed, and yes .. using Soil. Just some MG dirt.... garden topsoil. My plants are starting to grow these fleshy (almost leaf like) things inbetween the stem and where the leaf connects to the stem.... pardon the dumb question... but are these more leafs? or are they the male / female parts ?

those are more tops that grow out from the stem, yes more bud and leaf sites.

If you haven't already, you should check out 'stonesour's' grows.... a lot of good info on there that you could learn from... I did.

Yea,
I have read threw them.... very informative!!! It was just a question i had on the top of my head when i posted. My plants are starting to get really swollen stems and the leaf nodes are sprouting more nodes and leaves. I germed on the 8th of Nov. and planted on teh 10th on Nov.... its been 20 days, and no sign of sex.... I think those two dinky ass light bulbs i had in there before seriously delayed growth. I'm a little un-easy about posting pics... but i will see what my wife will let me get away with...lol. Plus everyone on this site has a TON of pics.. so .. ehh.. I don't think its a big deal. I'm having serious heat spikes and I'm having to leave the box open during the day to keep it at 77. If not it rockets to 90 - 94 the humidity is doing pretty good.... just having heat issues. I'm going to see what kind of ventilation system i can fit in here.

In my opinion..... I think a great amount of people that have grow journals don't even live in MMJ state's. Its a risk, but like someone told me as long as you ain't supplying the whole state... Keep it a personal garden and stay low on the radar. But I see where your wife coming from.... I'm paranoid to start my own journal and such, but I am really reconsidering.

Yeah I was about to say pictures would help out. normally when you switch the lighting back to 12/12 is when they start showing sex and start budding. I do think older plants will show sex regardless of light but it could be some time. My plants are 12/12 from seed and they get to be about 18-24" tall. I tried waiting two weeks before flowering them but I saw no increase in yield. So I think the plant will only grow as big as the space your growing in. It Also depends on your preference on when to start flowering... I'm rambling now.. Just smoked some bubblicious. Man that stuff is sweet.

Yea,
It's all about the legal status ...lol. Well, I'm gonna hold off on the pics after talking to the wife last night.... maybe in the near future. I didn't get a chance to check on the box this morning... my cycle is 9am to 9pm ..... and i work from 8 - 5 . so I only get a little time after i get home to do things. Things seem to be going smoothly.... other than the heat issue. My wife opens the box every day when she wakes up for me... buy then tho.. its been 90 in there for an hour or two.... i need to re-design my box.. take some stuff out of it.... make more space. Looking forward to seeing what Stone has in-store for us all !!!

just a suggestion, if you are really paranoid about posting pictures and such you could always use a proxy. I use a proxy from china and singapore to post most of my pictures and youtube content...lol. There is no way your tracking that for a few plants...know what I mean? Just a thought though.

OK guys......

here are my pics... not alot.. nothing fancy... Very much a Ghetto grow !
12 / 12 from seed (planted on Nov. 10th 2010)
Miracle grow Dirt ( Garden Top Soil )
2 - 65 watt CFL's ( 130 Watts total @ 2700K)
I made my own hood from this video( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rs_QRorECvo )

My hood is made with regular keyless sockets hanging straight down... that makes the lights hang into the plants... blah.... Lowes and home depot didn't have the socket i needed .. but I did order 2 online.. and they should be in today!!! so i can put the lights into the hood instead of them hanging down and all cross eyes crooked like that.

Small Fan on Low at all times
Germed and planted just Bag Seed.

I know Im gonna hear something about the teddy bear, and the frog... and i think there is even a mini rubber chicken in there somewhere.... lol.... just my wife's touch. everyone needs a friend ... even plants : )

And my wife named them all (after the cast of her fav show.......Roseanne)

Back left regular green pot - Becky and Jackie ....... Becky is a group of 3 plants, Jackie is a group of 4 ... not really expecting anything out of them.... probably gonna chop soon for space.

right front - Mark
right rear - Dan --- My Favorite...... hopefully Dan is a cross dresser and is really a female ; )

I have noticed a HUGE difference with the bigger bulbs in there...... they are not all weedy and squiggly..... the day after i put the lights in there... they all straightened out and went toward the light. I hate how they grow like vines sometimes after they sprout...lol.

So here ya go guys !!!! Nothing compared to Stone's Epic Grows, but It's a start : )

Those plants look great!! just wait, they will blow up after they start budding... Keep up the good work, im looking forward to seeing how they turn out!!!

I got my dual side socket in the mail today.... and finally fixed my hood.
