Welcome all, finally getting around to posting this journal. It's my second indoor grow in this cabinet. New to indoor but had a few years of experience outdoor, wow what a difference, this is a whole new ball game, and I'm liking the game
Technically this is the second grow, got a few ounces off my first one but that one was mainly working out the kinks in maintaining the right heat/humidity/controls, I'm really considering this as the first full grow cycle. I considered the first a test grow, to do exactly that, test/adjust/modify everything to get to a full cycle under the conditions I wanted. Cost of setup was just under $1,000 all-in. Got a few ounces off the test grow, enough to pay for it and have something to partake in while I wait for this cycle to finish
This second grow is going so well that I'm already designing and gathering materials to expand it from the current cabinet to the room it's sitting in, a cold cellar, 4'x8'x8', more to come on that over the next couple of months as I get time and cash to build it
Basic Equipment/Specs for setup:
DIY "storage closet" - inside dimensions 24"x48"x63"
Xen-Lux (Chinese) 405W 7-Band LED Panel
4" Inline fan for fresh/incoming air (bottom corner of cabinet)
230CFM bathroom fan for exhaust (top corner of cabinet)
Household Fan for moving air inside cabinet, mounted on wall
La Crosse digital, wireless (RF+WiFi) temp/soil/humidity meter, alerts, real-time (15 min interval) readings etc.
Foscam FI9821W 720p video/camera with IR, tilt/pan, live remote monitoring/snapshot pics
Brita On-Tap filter providing filtered water
Claber Oasis drip watering system (gives me 2-3 weeks at .4L/day/plant, handy for travelling)
Hand water/soaking once weekly to stretch roots
Grow Setup/Details:
2x Blueberry, 1x Pineapple Express from clones
12" diameter x 18" high /5 gallon buckets filled to 15", several holes drilled around the top for LST/tie-downs
DIY organic mix of triple mix, compost, peat moss, sheep manure, perlite, vermiculite & river rock
No nutes other than organics mentioned in soil mix
Avg. Lights On Temps: 85F
Avg. Lights Off Temps: 72F
Avg. Soil Temp: 73F
Avg. Humidity: 47%
Posting some pics (having issues posting pics, will figure them out), the week numbers are self-explanatory (naming convention includes the week number), will be posting weekly shots going forward.
So far I'm very satisfied with the progress, expecting to grow these to about 4' max. at the end of flowering, bushy enough to fill the whole cabinet. Testing some LST and Super-cropping which so far have shown great results. The ladies are looking happy, bushy, lots of colas/potential bud growth areas. I'm at week 9 of veging and will likely be triggering flowering at the end of week 10, just letting some shoots in the center to push up further and should be good to go. Will setup some white light shortly to get some pics in true color so you can see how healthy they look.
Cheers and happy growing to all
