whatup fellow rollers!
i'm new around here and new to horticulture in general. with the help of this forum, jorge cervante's bible, and a roommate that's worked with a couple hydro setups, i've got my first soil-based grow underway.
as odd as it sounds, i'm not sure what the strain is. i started with clones and know it's a purple something. it was recommended because originally i had bloombox height restrictions and needed something that'd grow bushy.
unfortunately, the 9 plants ended up being too bushy for the bloombox. ventilation was poor and powdery mildew came along. i knew something had to be done so i went all out and purchased the following new setup (will still be using the bloombox but haven't scooped more clones for it yet):
1 x sun hut xl silver
1 x hortiflux 1000 watt hps bulb
1 x xtrasun 6" air cooled reflector
1 x can 33 13" carbon filter
1 x vortex 6" inline fan
1 x co2 boost bucket + pump
1 x in/out digital hygro + thermometer
1 x 8000 btu portable air conditioner
1 x 18" oscillating fan
i didn't decide to do this journal until the other day so i'm missing a lot of the progress but here's what i do have thus far.. .
close up of clones on day 1 while still in the box:
after being transplanted to bigger pots and a few days before being moved to flowering:
the sexy light and exhaust setup:
outer view:
a close up as of yesterday, finishing up the 4th week of flowering:
so there it is. i'm definitely learning a lot and having fun. of course it's not all fun and games. aside from the mildew, aphid's showed up on one of the plants last night. i clean and sprayed it up then isolated it in the bloombox for now. looks ok tonight.
also, i'm experiencing a fair amount of drooping and discoloration+damage. do you think this is from the mildew? i've been fighting and fighting (first neem, now milk) but it's hard to tell if i've got a grip on it or not. ergh.. .
(reminder: i'm @ the end of the 4th week of flowering)
drooping:
discoloration+damage. i'll come back later with another pic showing the actual plants but for now here's a few i removed:
thx for lookin. will continue to post progress as it happens.
