Grow box

I am planning to start my 1st grow and thinking to start with something easy and simple.
Got space for a grow box with Height:3.2 ft Lenght: 2.6 ft and Wide: 2 ft so the only possible plants are lowryders i am thinking 5-7 plants. My main problem this time is lighting and the produced heat. How many bulds should i use and how much power of each? will 2 x 250w Hps be to much ?

you need more height to use HPS. Think of it this way: of your 3.2 feet of height, 10 inches of that will be your container and another 10 inches or so for your light. The plant needs to be about a foot from a HPS light.

Don't fret; you have options. Using the same box dimensions, you could use a 2-foot T5 fluorescent lamp to successfully grow. Or you could increase the height of your box to about 4 feet.

Please remember that what you've read is just one guy's opinion.

Welcome to rollitup and good luck!

Thx for advice i searched about T5 and see that they got low producity of lummens so i am thinking to combine them with CFL 125w to increase lumens without raising temp too much or go only with 2-3 cfl 125 will that work ?

Wrong answer

I only have 3ft of height im my cab also , with my hps in their its less

As long as you have good air flow / ventilation you can have hps pretty low

Granted the size of it matters , from 150w to 1,000

But still good air flow is key

I have my hps about 5" from the top of my plants and temps are 79 degrees

Their are some growers here that has some awesome grows using t5s , i have a 4 tube 24" t5 set up but it wont fit in my cab or i would use it

So i have my hps in it instead ,

Cfl`s work just fine , but always the more light the better , just keep good airflow to control temps

So if i put 2 x 5" fan sending air out one at left side and the the other at the right side of box and 2 x 5" bringin air in i would have an exchelent air flow i think.
But maybe i have some problems with humidity so what i am going to do then ?
I am still not sure if i am gonna use the 4 tube 24" t5 set up with 1 or 2 125w CFL or just 4 x 125w CFL i dont mind a bigger electricity bill.
My goal is maximizing the potency of the space i got.
What do u think is the optimal setup for that box for maximum yield ?

Do you have pics of you cab

You can check my cab out , i still got a little left to do but im growing in it now

Just click on my sig ( lets make a lil cab )

Also you want to exhaust more air out then what is coming in ,

My 2 intake fans are 55cfm , but my 2 exhaust fans are 90 cfm

I also bolted a 90cfm to the reflector to help keep the bulb cool

But just go to the link and check it out and maybe you get some ideas

Here is an old pic of a dresser cab i made , you can see my hps is almost on top of my plant

And the temps stayed right at 80 degrees

Just go through and read and check out different growers set ups and how they have their ventilation

Does anyone use cooler reflectors. Cause i think i am gonna try to put in there a 400w HPS and i would like to have some opinions from experienced growers who had try that.
Coolers are efficiency? and which will be the minimum distance from bulb ?
