grow room is @ 89º can I add extra inline fan???

Im in process of putting my grow room toghter 6x6x2.5 with 2-400w hps cool tubes with a 6" inline fan 400cfm pushing exhaust out with 2-12"x5" holes on bottom forcing fresh air in. Connected everything together and to see how hot it gets inside and its been a steady 89º but its only spring time here and im afraid by summer temps will get in 90s .

Can I add a second fan to exhaust to help push hot air out?? See pic attached20140426_223338.jpg

You can. Does the exhaust vent go to the outside? You can pull cooling air for the lights from outside too, then cool the grow area with a separate system, even air condition it.

Are you venting the exhaust to another room or outside?

Seems a little hot for running cooltubes. Venting outside my temps are consistent around 75-78 lights on and 65 or so off with no a/c atm.

I do run one in my room during the summer and then vent my exhaust back into the room my tent is in so I am not ust dumping cool air back outside.

Anser to your ? is yes you can add a fan.

If all your ventilation is correct and you are still getting high temps I would run a dedicated fan to cool the lights and a separate one for your scrubber and extracting air.

Yeah but not much, u need to be Intaking air at 70f or lower to get the room at proper temp. U may have to spend a couple $$ and grab a chiller and ice box or an ac unit.. U doing soil or hydro?

Something is up then if your intake air is 55-60 ideally you really shouldn't have much of a difference between the air that is being pumped into the grow and the ambient temp of the grow.

I would check for leaks and then try to run it scrubber-fan-cooltube-cooltube-exhaust. or two fans going intake port-fan-cooltube-cooltube-exhaust port and the other fan scrubber-fan-exhaust-

if your intake air is 55-60 you may even be on the low side if things are running right.

my area is 4x4x8 tent and intake air is 65 degrees give or take 2-3 degrees.

it is setup with just one 4in ventech inline like this scrubber>fan>cooltube>exhaust I use the passive intake as you do in your pic and my temps are 75-78 lights on so I cannot imagine being much different even though you are running 2 tubes since you have a 6in instead of the 4 I use.

Well there you go. Just move your plants into the living room where its cooler! Seriously, a second fan will help, but I have to wonder if your ducting is too restrictive. If it very long or has a lot of bends in it, you won't get enough air flow.

Urban I think u may have got my post confused with Urbans.. I run an intake from the outside of my tent through my lights and exhaust it to my living room. My tent is completely sealed because I run co2 I use 1000w hps

Thanks guys lots of helpful hints I an use to fig this out. I think my main problem is my fan is not what its cracked out to be I bought the fan off ebay from 247garden the pic description was the big type duct fan thats enclosed @ 400cfm but what I got was a inline duct fan that fits directly inside tubing. It says its 400 cfm but I doubt it. Mabe I should get the better 6" fan might make a huge difference. If it doesnt I an use both one for lights one for exhaust.

I scored a used 240vac blower for $2C at a kitchen and bath shop. I'm sure some companies that do forced air heating would also have some good deals to check into.
I'm always on the hunt for spare parts. It keeps the cost of replacement down and when I need something it's already in my junk pile.

Well I added a bigger fan and got temps down to 83deg. mabe I need to add another passive intake or put a window ac in garage window and run a small duct from ac to room

Well that didnt work either I tested for 4 hrs and temp got to 87 deg. I even added a homemade ac with 3" tube going into room. heres what my setup looks like.20140512_121521.jpg

id put the fan directly connected to the filter via duct work and then start blowing that nice air through your hoods. you want that filter to have the power to scrub the room, if you put the fan too far away from the filter it wont catch very much since the suction will be low and not enough to pull much air through the filter. tinker with it see what gives you the best results. also almost 90 degrees is a little high but if you are running co2 i heard you can sit at 90 and be fine. i try to keep my room between 76-80 for bloom 79-82 for veg i also run co2 but still im able to achieve low temps and they gobble that co2 up.

Have you ever actually grown any weed? I think you will find that temp as high as 87 degrees will not be a problem in the real world. Consider outdoor weed that grows in places like theMiddle East or South America where it is hot as fuck.
No doubt someone with a grow book will pipe in and say the temp must b no more than 78 degrees, but since your budget is tight I can assure you that you can grow in your setup As Is.
