Grow Setup Need Advice

Hey - First time grower...KB bagseed plants are about 5-6 weeks old, tallest is 7 or 8 inches...Growing in my closet in a Scott's/Miracle-Gro soil & perlite mix (drains exceptionally well), I'm using CFL's and FL tubes @ a total of 140-150 watts (10,000 lumens or so) running 24/7...the biggest leaves are starting to dry a bit and slowly fan downward...is it a cause for concern or not? Also, how long until I should induce flowering?

Thanks

You should start flowering them once they get to about half the height of what you want them to fully reach. Ex. if you want a 2ft plant you want to start to flower at 1 ft. Make sure your plant is strong and healthy before inducing into flowering because once the light cycle changes your plant stops producing big fan leaves and starts producing small leaves. You will need healthy fan leaves which help hold the sugars the plant needs and all the other leaves help keep the mositure. Good luck with your grow :)

I can't really see anything in the pictures, 'cuz they're too small, but there's probably nothing to worry about quite yet. As far as flowering I would do it a bit before they are half the size you want some can even triple in size and running out of vertical space is not an easy thing to fix. One more thing I wanted to mention is that lumens are a measure of light intensity and they do not add. Unfortunately this means that you do not have 10k lumens. For future reference if you are using cfl's go for the highest wattage bulbs you can find. It is better to have fewer bulbs of higher wattages/lumens than many lower wattage/lumen bulbs. Once again Lumens do not add, if your highest lumen bulb is 725 lumens that is the amount of lumens you have in that area. This doesn't mean that more bulbs doesn't help, they do, but it is mainly as a better way to cover surface area. Good luck on the rest of your grow.
