im transforming a 7ft long x 5ft wide shed into a grow room

im currently working on making a new floor frame for it and making it withstand the up coming cold

how does this sound to you all? and got any tips to make it withstand the cold i planned on getting many cans of that spray foam

spray foam can expand so large that it will tweek ur lumber. dont use it in a door jam or window area. it wont close right. i would use foam sheeting cut it to fit and use duct tape. and will prolly be cheaper. or even pink insulation. fermaldahyde free of course.

That would be awesome, but I would buy the cans and only do it in corners of the shed, I dont think that foam would help keep cold out.
I think insulation would be cheaper. like the fiberglass shit. but That might not be possible to put up.
Maybe you could upload a picture of what you got.
and if you plan on using HID lights. those will keep the shed warm. but when the lights turn off it might get chilly.
and would could get a temp controller from C.A.P. they have one that will control cooling and heating.

yeah i was gonna use the foam on the shed like a person would chawk on a house, ill be using a 400watt hps for flowering

That spray foam is sooo messy but it works... Lmao dont get it on any clothes you plan to keep.. Is the shed inside or out? Sounds good get to work

that should work great for veg.. i use a t5 but have flouros for extra plants, under or at my limit of course.

Im using a t8 shoplight for my little ones, until my 2 plants are done flowering, I hope around friday they will come down.
And I will have a 400 watt and a 600 watt all in a 6.5'x6.5' tent :D

i found they work extremely well for scrog so thats why i always stick with em for veg

im waiting for walmart to get that cheap gloss white spray paint back instock so i can go threw and do the inside with a new clean coat
i was also thinkin about doin the outside black or a dark green and getting a camo tarp for extra protection from the elements

I wouldnt get a Camo tarp. well if youre in legal state it doesnt matter. but you dont wanna act like youre trying to hiding something.
make it look like a regular shed filled with shit you dont need. lol

They do make a thing Im not sure of the name. I picked it up at Lowes. its used to cover water heaters.
its a reflective insulation. you can always line the inside with that. I think for a 4'x25' roll is $30. kind of a lot more but a lot more reflective than white paint

i was only goin with the paint cause its 98cents a can and doesnt glossy white reflect the light better then flat?

I just did a quick search on that. and people say flat reflects more evenly and dont make hot spots

But I dont have experience with paint. so I cant answer it for myself ):

"Self explanatory; a great option for large grow rooms or for people who are interested in a low maintenance wall. Flat white paint has the ability to reflect between 75-85% of the light, and does not create hotspots. Adding a fungicide is recommended when painting.

Glossy and eggshell whites not reflect light as efficiently as flat white. Semi-gloss paint for example, only has the ability to reflect between 55-60% of the light. Also important to remember when using paint is that any smears or blemishes on the surface take away from how reflective the wall is so care should be taken to avoid marking or staining the walls. Titanium white paint is very reflective; however it is usually only used on reflectors due to its high cost."
