Growing a Male

Trying to learn as much as possible with reading and just pure hands on growing. So far everything I've done has been female. I'd like to grow a male, if I can get one to pop..., to save the pollen from.

Since I'm just keeping what I have in veg to learn from until I understand how to treat the plants right, would the male be fine in this light cycle ( 18/6 ) to produce pollen or does the male need to have a " flower " light cycle to produce viable pollen ? Billions of hits for searching on female flowering, not so much on how to bring a male to a viable stage of pollen production. Not a breeder, don't intend to be one, just need a more cost effective way to have a bunch of seed to try and get what I'm after instead of dropping a few hundred on 100 or less candidates. I grew up in the 80's when you could literally get gallon ziplock bags of seeds for free or very cheaply just by asking.

End goal is mostly Indica for insomnia and chronic pain relief. Bonsai moms are doing well, just need to figure out how to take care of a bonsai dad.

Grow it like you normally would a female, when you got lots of pollen everywhere chop that shit bag it up and freeze it till you need to bust it out to use on a female. Or better yet just grow your females you want to cross with it all at the same time.

Yo,
The male does need a flowering cycle like the female but only like 2-3 weeks of 12/12 and u will have pollen.

People tend to cut a branch off the male and leave in a glass off water on 12/12 for 2-3 weeks thats is loads of pollen for making seeds..
Once u have that pollen you can put on any branch on your other plants and that branch will make seeds it takes around 5-6 weeks for the female to make a viable seed after pollination

Hope this helps
