Growing in a condo

Me and the hubby are looking to start growing, we currently live in a condo and have this extra space in a spare closet.

I'm curious if this is enough space to include a mother section and if so how big should it be? I've read through many a thread over at grasscity and have yet to find any mention of a minimum size.

I also happened upon these and wondered if they could be used for anything, clones?

Well from what I saw in Taints journal, He used a shop light for veg growth that kept his branch growth down and his bud growth up. I would give myself at least 18" which should be fine for 4bulb 2' t5 fixture and a 400w hps which would still leave you with a 4 1-2' plant to work with with about 2' for your light and safety space

Yes you will need at least an 8" pc fan for your prop/veg area an a large oscillator with an open vent in somewhere in your closet for your bloom. I would do 4 plants with large root zones 10+" .
and if you wanted to top, you could biuld 2 flower sections with 1 400w hps ballast and have it on a relay switch on a timer that switches every 12 hours so you could pack 8 short plants with large root zones and have a perpetual system of 8 clones and 8 bloom.

What do you mean a switchable hood? I think you mean 400/600w switchable ballast with an aircooled reflector. Do you have the same size inline fan as your exhaust ports. If you had an inline fan you could install it above your prop area and beable to cool your entire area with one fan. just hook a piece of ducting hanging off your reflector for intake and point the other end of ducting outside your area.

I don't know...could I see him wearing a green shirt?

And why is he walking away, he's got work to do.

You could use those small cabinets for clones, a mother is actually unneccessary for a small op like this. I would do 1 600W HPS in the closet with a 6" inline fan pulling through carbon filter and out of the closet. In 1 or 2 of those cabinets you could put 2 2' T5 HO bulbs for clones, at week 2 of flower you take cuttings and put them in your little cabinet (for the 6 weeks). I would be wary of them getting to big, maybe you could use both cabinets for cuttings, shouldn't be an issue for 4-5 cuttings tho.

Anywho so you always have cuttings in the cabinet and as soon as flowering is done you could transfer to the closet.

Just my opinion about efficiency.

You could turn 1 cabinet into a mother cabinet with t5's as well, and the other for cuttings, I would hook the cabinets up in tandem for air flow but make sure they do not share light.

that's my .02

Sorry about dropping off for a bit, I've been under the weather :( Thanks for all the advice though, somewhere along the line I got it in my head I NEEDED a mother plant lol. This would make things a lot easier with the grow-box as well, I'll start figuring out my ducting and pick up some t5 fixtures tomarrow. Updates soon!
