Growing in the ground

I have never grown in the actual ground before, but I've got the ideal location. Anyways, I was told lime is the trick to put in my holes in the ground for pH.. What else should I be prepared to put in the soil so everything grows? The soil is rich along a river, but I haven't tested it's pH.. What am I in for?

You're in for a fat harvest I hope! Local soil can be excellent, I never prep my soil and always get great results, you can pretty much eye the consistency to see what properties it may have, local flora and surrounding vegetation are good indicators, if you're near a river bed watch out for silty soils and make sure to till a bit, watch the water level too and if the soil is rich in organic matter and not clay or silt your oh should be around 5.8 - 6.7, good for weed, just gotta have the knack for spotting decent soil I guess.

The plant in my avatar was grown in local urban soil next to an abandonded building, turns out it was rich in nitrogen, just look at what type of plants grow there and that'll tell you...

I'm definitely in for a fat harvest, or I'm not going in.. Plan is minimum of 200 clones (Lethal Purple, Fast Girl, and Mountain Bud mothers already going w/ cuttings from each), just ordered two feminized seeds from 6 strains (12 fem. seeds total) to start when I'm in there, and also taking a backload of bag seed along with me. I have 10 Ambrosia strain seeds, but the strain isn't recommended for cloning. Tilling the ground 1' x 1' for each plant, patches of 6 or 9. Totally secluded, off helicopter grid, and I'm living in there so being spotted or found is next to impossible. Sounds crazy, doesn't it? I have been planning this all year, so any constructive criticism is welcome (no haters please).

Im doin the same thing this year myself mate, theres a river neer me with forest bushed and the likes all around plus there must be a huge aquifer under the ground as theres water pissing up every where, i must have counted about a dozon streams feeding into the river.

Anyway, i just dug a few holes, filled with compost and banged my power flower and super skunk straight in there!

Oh yea! :hump:

Before i forget, i have a durban poison germanated but its growing realy slow for some reason, its been up about a haf inch for about 2weeks?!?

Can anyone shed some light on this matter please

Sound out fiends...

be careful around rivers and streams, thats the first place people look and its easy to spot from the air via helicopter

Fishermen will walk river banks looking for good spots to fish.I grew along a river once and had to pull my plants.I thought like you,who will find them there.I went to check them one time and had over 30 conservation and game wardens running up and down the river.Never again.OPH

I was thinking that aright so i rambled up the side of the river valley and planted in a clearing beside some scrub and bushes, and theirs only 2 Garda (the Irish police) helicopters in the whole country so i really doubt they will be spotted from the air.

thanks for the critisism anyway lads, its always welcome.

ill keep posted.

By the way any ideas on the seedling? Im gettin worried!:-(

Critisism?,just trying to help a fellow toker keep from getting busted.Rivers aroud here(USA) are a bad place to plant, everyone has the same idea.If you are remote enough that you have no one wondering around,go for it.Good luck.OPH

Hopefully all go's well mate! Ill have to get a few pics up soon.

Iv seen videos of plots being pulled up in the US by roving chopper fiends, is that a common occurrence in your parts?

Yes,every year around harvest the air is thick with them.I have had them hover over my plants,i keep them short so they do not stand out.My neighbor was was busted right down the road after being seen from the air.He planted them all in one patch and let them get 12-14ft high.
Good luck and show us pick when you can.OPH
P.S. My wifes family is from Ulster and Co.Down.Here family name was Forgy.Beautiful country you live in.OPH

in the past I have had some seedlings that did'nt seem to grow at all and then bang.... they caught up with the bigger sisters, so it might just be the type of strain you're using???starts slow and then..... do they look healthy?

ok, I have one DP growing too and mine looks fine, but it does seem shorter than my other strains, so my guess is not to worry yet. give it time and she'll more than likely catch up. it's killer weed too!:bigjoint:
