Growing in the winter

So i have a buddy who is growing and he is in week three and he was wondering if he will get good results. He brings it inside his house at night and he puts the plants back outside in the am.. I live in northern california. What results will i Get? Is it going to be a slow process? I also heard that the yield will be high due to the length time of grow. And what is the minimum amount of light that i will need to flowere it or even get growth?

I live in north texas and i started an expierimental outdoor grow in sept. The solstice has already past so the plant started flowering within a month or so and she was super small but it is still a good way for me to practice lst and topping. I am not sure what the light situation is like in northern cali and i have heard of some people growing year round but i have never seen any real results. I would say go for it unless your seed supply is limited and if thats the case then i would just hold out till march or veg inside with some inexpensive lights for a couple of months. Be well
