Growing my first Auto help

I have been researching but still haven't gotten any clear answers. I should be getting a white widow auto in the mail in a couple days and I'd like to do everything I can to get it right.

Is it ok to start in a small container and transplant up when needed or do u need to put it in the final sized container from the start?

Is it good to run 24/0 lights on the whole time or no?

Is topping and LSTing still a viable option for autos?

Thx in advance

Before you even pop any autos you should do some more research. Its very simple to find the answers to the questions you are asking.
No transplanting- start in final container, i like to run 20/4 some like 24/0 , 18/6 is even good to save power, No topping, Lst is good ive seen lots guys have success with it.

All this, and I'd add that if you are growing in soil like I did when I grew autos, fill your container (the one it will finish in, don't transplant as stated above) with whatever soil you will be using, and then scoop out about a red solo cup worth and fill the hole you just made with a soil that is lighter in nutrients (I used FF Happy Frog or Light Warrior) for the seed to start on. This will prevent the young plant from getting nutrient burn. Aslo, since your starting in a large container, do not over water when it is young (seedling stage). I'd accomplish this by only watering the little pocket of 'light soil' that I created to start the seed in. Good luck.

I germinated mine in Rapid Rooters and when they sprouted I put the rapid rooters in coco/perlite on top of 4lbs of a "hot soil" in 5 gallon soft pots. Very light water daily to keep the rooters moist. 2 weeks and going strong under 400w HPS 24/7. I think the early riser just hit the soil as it's getting slightly darker and growing fast.

I suggest reading some threads in the auto flower section. There's a ton of info over there.

I start in final container but don't fill it , leave a few inch to allow for topping up the pot in case she gets a bit stretched , I run 20/4 and drop to 18/6 when in full flowering , I've topped , didn't find it productive , LST however Seems to be just fine , I'd reccomend going with a 3-5 g pot but have still seen good results in smaller :)

No point in the cup size thing. By time it breaks ground it will have roots 4-6 inches deep.

Roots grow different in larger containers. The roots will hit the jot soil in a matter of days.

If its organic just mix the soil a little less hot. Top dress as needed.

If its synthetic, feed when it needed.

Final pot.

There are a couple things that grow bigger autos. One is bigger pot. The other is to use veg nutes all the way through stretch.

What is "hot soil"?

If I am going to be growing inside a bucket, I suppose it would be good to put the soil directly inside of the bucket? (Rather than put the soil inside a pot; put the pot inside the bucket).

If for some reason a bucket grow is a bad idea, I could grow inside the closet in a camper in my backyard, but it's not heated. I can't let certain ppl I live with know what I'm doing. Lol

So if I buy some new nutrients, I could go with veg nutrients til the end?

I'm going to bite the bullet and grab a viparspectra off amazon simply because my seedlings are already rocking (been dry and am getting itchy:shock:) and are starting to streeeeetch, curious if more wattage is always recommended, looking at both the 450 and 600 in the reflector series. not looking for other options at this time as these are on amazon.de for prime and i will have them by tuesday afternoon. will upgrade for my next grow to a DIY COB set up(atleast for flower and keep this puppy for veg)... thanks for any input

I'll be growing an auto White Widow in a bucket..
the lights i currently have:
•1 directional 23w 2700k CFL
•3 10w 2700k LEDs
•2 18w 2700k CFLs
Is this enough wattage to have a decent outcome growing this auto?(assuming I don't fck anything up)

I plan on put 2-3 more 10w LEDs in there too..

Here's a pic

With autos don't transplant to much stress.

With the light schedule I've read 18/6 is better results or something please correct me
