Growing with a topsy turvy.....

now im trying something new and i have a couple questions...please help! this should be common sense but hell...the topsy turvy allows you to grow upside down so the roots get max sunshine exposure...its like a thick light allowing bag the soil and roots go in and it just hangs upside down...imagine the resonating possibilities....one prob...should i aim the lights directly at the plant tops....or the roots?! and whats the cheapest possible light fix...im talkin about home depot or lowes....thanks...and may u be blessed with big sticky scrumptious buds....:blsmoke:

My opinion is that thing is just a gimmick. You definately want your light concntrated on your buds. The farther your buds from the light they are smaller are not dense

thanks...i figured that...i hope it turns out well! what do you think of since im going thru lighting probs if i pointed one at the roots and one at the tops?

Wow I wonder how this will turn out! LOL my tomatoes kicked ass in this thing last summer,lets just say I didnt have to pay for them for awhile. I actually utilize a similar system when I grow, I use a secondary rounded container to catch water, and they fit so perfectly, I can pivot my plant quite a bit to pitch or lean into or away from light. Helps even out the girls!

it works fine...just use a bucket and cut a hole in the bottom. i would link you to some journals but ....oh yeah!! one example is a grow inside of a 20' enclosed trailer. maybe you can search for that.

you use vertical lighting, rather then above your plants with a reflector. they grow like vines its cool.

This is not a good idea with a vertically growing plant. It's just going to keep trying to grow up anyways. That's what it wants to do it. Works fine for vines terrible for pot plants.

its fine....look up vertical grows, you usually just use no reflector at all and hang it from the ceiling like in the middle of your plants and they grow around it ...

what are you talking about? some of the best grows i have seen were vertical, it works great....

Yea but they aren't growing out the bottom of a bucket either. Check youtube this is old news. The plant is going to grow like a U.

And you'll see what I mean. Vertical growing works by maximizing the light and mounting the light vertically. The plants still grow vertically as well. Using your logic they would grow laterally which is not the case. Other people that had to prove this too themselves have already done so for us.
